Super 7 Ultimates Thread

There isn’t really much left from Super7 that reuses those old Mattel sculpts, if any at all. Remember, the original Super7 Lion-O just reuses the Mattel sculpt. Some of the Thundercats use the articulation scheme, but many have moved on to different style joints like ball hinges instead of standard hinges. Most of what S7 is doing is all new sculpts, but still have limited range. That’s the area they don’t seem to care about improving.
Yeah, that's kind of what I mean, though. They're fixated on basically doing worse copies of what Mattel was doing. They're doing a whole new body, but in order to make it visually match up with the Mattel stuff, they just end up doing a worse version of Mattel's stuff, with worse ROM, and shittier plastic/shittier quality. They could do MOTUC-style bodies but find ways to increase the ROM, and generally make them better while still making them fit the old stuff stylistically. They just don't. They go backwards instead of forwards.

They're married to the -construction- of 15 year old toys is what I have a problem with, not them being married to the -style- of the figures.

My only exposure to Tigersharks is on here and the fwoosh and their brief cameo in the 2011 Thundercats series. Checked out the intro and no recollection. Might add it to the watch list.

I still need to catch up with silverhawks (wave 2, 3 and copper Kidd lol).

But if anyone is reading the dynamite comics SilverHawks and Thundercats are finally crossing over 😀

I'm not reading it, but I'm curious about how they reconcile the lore.

Thundercats are explicitly on our Earth after the collapse of one or two civilizations. Meanwhile, Silverhawks actually travel to and from Detroit. Does the comic square that circle?

There's definitely some time travel involved. I don't read the series either, but I caught some shots online of the last pages of a TCats issue, where they meet Flashback the Silverhawk, saying he has travelled time to meet them or something.

Flashback brought some of the T-Cats to the future. Unclear at this point how timelines match up. Flashback didn't appear in the main Silverhawks book either so he could be from the future of them too. Honestly the main Silverhawks book seems like they sped-run through the story to get to the crossover. That might have been a sales thing though.

In the Cheetara one shot, one of the planets from SilverHawks is named dropped but I can't remember which one off the top of my head.

Oh no. I jumped through some hoops to have them share a universe.

See, after the global disaster that wiped out Second Earth (I'm assuming it was a runaway comet passing between the Earth and the moon), most of humanity relocated to a recently discovered Earth-like planet called New Earth. There they created a settlement called New Detroit and just carried on as normal. That's where, like, Mandora and Safari Joe are from.

TigerSharks are up. Mako, Octavia, and T-Ray are the first wave and cost $65 a piece.

They look cool but nope.
Seconded

Maybe seven years ago I could have talked myself into these, Octavia cute as hell and exactly what I wanted out of this line, but Super7 is in the “Find Out” phase after years of dragging their feet on finishing teams with rising prices and diminishing quality.

I showed them to my wife and she said “Fun! See ya for a dollar!” and I think that just about sums up a modern Super7 reveal more than anything.

(Also… what’s special about the bonus heads? No one posting the pics and links Bluesky is saying what makes them different from the heads with the figures)

They look good, but I have little attachment to Tigersharks as I have only seen a few episodes years ago. The designs are good but at Super7 prices I would need to be much more invested in the property to consider buying them. As it stands I am passing and would only consider them at 50%, or more, off regular price.
