Star Wars Black Series

The Aayla is just a straight rerelease. The only difference is she has the "wooshing" lightsaber blade effect accessory with her this time along with the regular blade.

Nah, found some more promo pics and she does have pinless legs this time:

I got two Sandies, no issue. Now please do a white and a black one and I'll order two of those as well.

Also I appreciate having two days before preorders to really dwell on whether or not I want to go all in on Sandtroopers.

I read today a comment on IG saying that Hasbro has been photoshopping pins from joints in promo shots.

Was just about to say that. I think in one of the photos of her from the side, you can still kiiiinda see the pin they covered up, but maybe I was just seeing things. I think when they showed her off on the livestream, she still had the pins.

I did order a sandtrooper and 2 of Galle; if Bly's head is swappable, I'll do that so as to be able to avoid getting the inevitable re-release. If not, I'll return the 2nd and get the inevitable re-release.

Interesting to see the "lock in pre-order price" text at the top of Pulse today. I imaging they're gearing up for tariff-related price increases. I was on the fence about the sandtrooper but figured might as well get one more trooper in before whatever shenanigans come up after May 9.

I got Luminara, Shaak Ti and Dark Trooper armor Gideon today. They are all very well done. The women use the double knees of Aayla and Bastilla. And the soft goods look really nice this time. I also like Shaak Tis boots. I don't remember seeing those used before but they look really cool. And Gideon is just awesome. He looks so nice. I can't wait to mess around with the extra. I'm not gonna go all out, but he will get a new head and helmeted head and some gold accents. Unfortunately, I can't change the belt like I wanted because his crotch is basically like a diaper and it's hard to pull apart. So I'm just gonna use some paint and try to make it look as different as I can. The cape is also permanently attached. The jetpack can come off but it's glued in so it takes a big of muscle to do. And it doesn't stay on as well after. But it holds the cape in place so that's nifty. I cut it off of the extra one I'm gonna customize. Tomorrow my Jedi survivor box should be here from Amazon. Star wars day is better then Christmas lol.

Would they even be able to guarantee the price not change for those who ordered early? If so, I wonder what's to stop other companies from doing the same, other than just being much smaller entities who can't necessarily afford the lost money?

It says "Lock-in pre-order pricing today. Current pre-orders end May 9th at 12:01 EDT"

It sounds like they'll turn these listings off and probably create new ones for the same products they can mess with. Kinda nice of them to do it after May 4th.

Too bad the few items I was interested in are already sold out.

I pre ordered x2 Sandtroopers, 1 Death Trooper/Shoretrooper 2 pack, and 1 Lt. Galle today. I also bought the Cassian Andor figure from the Wave with Dedra and K2 for $10 on Amazon.

It is nice Hasbro held off on changing or raising prices until after May 4th. But I do wonder what prices for Black Series will go up to. What do you guys think? Like $27.99, or do you think it will be $30.00?

In MCUCollector24's review of the new Anakin figure he claims that the Star Wars team has a history of releasing promo shots of figures with no pins, but once released the figure actually does have pins. He also claimed that he had heard they were actively photoshopping the pins out of those promo images.

Anyone heard of this? First I've heard of it, and I'm particularly skeptical of the claim that the Star Wars team was photoshopping promo images. MCUCollector24 doesn't buy many Black Series figures and explicitly said he was quoting other people with that claim, and I'm having trouble believing it. But then again I barely pay attention to pinned joints, so it certainly could have happened without my knowing it.

I looked for pins in the livestream and saw them in the actual product they displayed.
Which is something anyone wondering about this could do.

They also haven't been designing new figures using double jointed limbs for quite some time now. That only shows up with limb reuse. They would have to retool these parts to be pinless. But if they were going to retool them anyway, they'd just redesign them with the current single joints.

I'm happy to hear all the love for the dewback! When I was little, an older neighbor gave me a few of his old toys, including an original dewback. No saddle, or figure to ride him, but I was fascinated by the big grinning dinosaur with a trap door in his back & a great swinging head/tail feature. Then when I discovered it was a Star Wars toy, it really ignited something in me. I ended up spending a lot of time looking at action figure collector guide books in libraries back then, picturing the figures I hoped to find at garage sales or something. I wasn't collecting 1:18th scale when the Walmart exclusive dewback set came out, but I absolutely couldn't resist picking it up. And I was THRILLED when it was revealed for the Black Series! It's really an awesome toy & I would never get rid of it.
