Star Wars Black Series

They also haven't been designing new figures using double jointed limbs for quite some time now. That only shows up with limb reuse. They would have to retool these parts to be pinless. But if they were going to retool them anyway, they'd just redesign them with the current single joints.

This is also my understanding. The story I've heard for years now is whoever Hasbro's contact at LucasFilm is prefers single joints, and any double joints we see are sculpts that are 4+ years old. So if we do see pinless double-jointed knees I'll be surprised.

They supposedly had the same LucasFilm person as their contact for the recent Indiana Jones line, and all of those figures certainly do have single-jointed knees and elbows.

I had ordered the Wal-Mart ROTS Carded Comm. Cody and 501st Trooper and received them. But I was upset I skipped R2 since he has the rockets this time. I told myself "You don't need him a 17th time just because of rockets". Well.......it turns out I do. He went back In Stock on Wal-Mart.com, so I grabbed him and got Kit Fisto too so shipping would be free. I already have 2 Kit Fisto from his original release, but one more can't hurt.

If the packaging is nice, I'll leave Kit MOC.

I also went ahead and pre ordered Aayla, who I also have 2 of from the original release (but this one has swooshing effect!! lol) and a Magna Guard. Why not. I love Star Wars, and its Revenge of the 5th.

I'm happy to hear all the love for the dewback! When I was little, an older neighbor gave me a few of his old toys, including an original dewback. No saddle, or figure to ride him, but I was fascinated by the big grinning dinosaur with a trap door in his back & a great swinging head/tail feature. Then when I discovered it was a Star Wars toy, it really ignited something in me. I ended up spending a lot of time looking at action figure collector guide books in libraries back then, picturing the figures I hoped to find at garage sales or something. I wasn't collecting 1:18th scale when the Walmart exclusive dewback set came out, but I absolutely couldn't resist picking it up. And I was THRILLED when it was revealed for the Black Series! It's really an awesome toy & I would never get rid of it.
I regret not getting one from Walmart when I had the chance when it was clearanced down to like $17

I ordered 2x RotS retro card Aayla Secura. Walmart delivered 2x standard Black Series Aayla Secura. What a joke.

That sounds like it may have just been a faulty listing- maybe they included the wrong photo or something? I don't think the retro Aayla is due out for a couple months, is she? My Magnaguard says August.

Just between you and me, I also prefer single joints. As long as the arm reaches 90degrees, I like it better than the broken elbow wonk that comes with dual joints.

I had ordered the Wal-Mart ROTS Carded Comm. Cody and 501st Trooper and received them.
Hang on, those Cody pre-orders have been delivered? I'm still waiting for mine.

I'll be totally honest - I hated the single joints at first, but as long as the character design hides it well, I think they've done a good job giving the characters a lot of ROM with the style of single joint they use. I don't love it on the stormtroopers but on some of the baggy-pants/loose shirts figures I don't notice it anymore. I do think it makes the troopers look a little bit stumpy in the legs but it doesn't bother me on Jedi and Sith, but totally just my personal opinion.

The Cody pre orders have not been delivered lol. Mine is still just sitting there like most everyone's. But Cody is In Stock and ready to ship on Wal-Mart.com and has been for a couple of weeks. So, most of us just went ahead and ordered him and got him already.

Meanwhile, the pre orders still say June 1st or something.

Geez. First off, Wal-Mart delivered my ROTS Kit Fisto in a bag, but not my R2-D2. And now, R2 says he is "delayed". Then, they still won't let me cancel my Comm. Cody pre order. I got the figure a couple weeks ago when I ordered the In Stock Cody, and keep trying to cancel the pre order, but they just won't let me. It's always something with them. Wal-Mart kind of, sort of, just ever so slightly...... blows.

Now, on to something more important. I used to mention this a lot on The Fwoosh, so it's time to state here. I need Hasbro to go ahead and make all the remaining characters that had figures from the POTF 2 line. And they are doing a good job honestly. But now that they've renewed with Disney/Lucasfilm, there is no reason not to pump out those 30+ characters still remaining.

Make it happen Hasbro.

I remember when this was the big controversy. My opinion remains, as ever: Whatever works better. I don't think there's value in (for example) forcing a figure to have a double-jointed elbow just for it to end up looking worse and having the same ROM as a single joint. If the extra pieces/different type of articulation isn't adding actual value and functionality, then we're just being snobs about a meaningless, arbitrary number. And that's stupid.

Likewise, if an action figure can do all the things any person, including an action figure photographer, can ever reasonably expect a figure to do - then who cares if it's a single joint or a double joint that accomplishes it? Sometimes a double joint has terrible range. Sometimes a single joint has amazing range. Toy designers/engineers should be encouraged to do what works best for that figure, that character, and that design. They shouldn't be stressing about hitting arbitrary POA counts or making sure 'it's a double joint' for no other reason than to say it's a double joint. That's peak stupidity.

That being said, regardless of joint type, I've seen way more action figures suffer because the articulation was poorly engineered than because it was or wasn't this or that specific TYPE of joint.

Another incredibly tense, well-done set of episodes from Andor that more than made up for any complaints that last week's batch was too slow. Really hope they give us a Syril sooner rather than later.

Don't forget the ISB tactical agent goes up for pre-order today. I'll probably try and snag one- I like the look of him, and I'm still riding the high.

I haven't seen the third episode of yesterday's trio, but is the ISB guy shown in that one?

I would like to get him but I sold off all my non-helmet imperials besides Palpatine and Tarkin. If only he had a new trooper helmet

Thanks for the reminder about the ISB agent. I kinda wish they included an alternate head, would've easily got me for two.

There are so many characters from Andor I would buy who I know are not action figure-y enough to get figures...

But Erskin's now been in two shows... can we get that short king as an action figure please?

I found a Captain Rex from Ahsoka. I prefer the v1 helmets to v2 for clones. Something about the art deco Rocketeer look. I don't really buy many Star Wars anymore, but I figured I splurge for this version of Rex. May get the recent updated ANH Luke and Leia, as well as the upcoming Han and Chewie just to have updated/better versions of them. Although I'll likely just wait for price drops/sales.
