IIRC the conversation about how a ra-ra-GO-JOE vibe doesn't work in modern America so we'd need an alternate-timeline-retro-80s setting for GI Joe to work because actual fucking hope/optimism could exist there was what inspired me to start writing the cards in the first place, I think. And like 167 cards later I'm glad it did.

The thing I like about the new Hama figures (which Ru and I already talked about) is they save me from hand-building a Tommy Arashikage Vietnam soldier figure on my own.

I already made Wade Collins but I'm open to an upgrade on that.

I also have made a Wade (#madeawade) but if they did a legit Wade, I'd be lying if I said I would definitely skip.

Also the funny thing about the file cards project is it feels less relevant to try to make up my own characters to exist there - it's more thematic to reimagine the OG characters in a world that doesn't suck as much as ours does.

Well, it could be argued, in some areas, it sucks far harder, but in a very clear cut way with definite methods to defeat. Which is absolutely comforting and kinda wonderful. And that's what is appealing about GI Joe, I think in every version (cartoon or comic), that some people are awful, and others do the right thing no matter the cost.

I’ve been enjoying a lot of BBWS and FMF stuff from afar, cherry picking some lines. What ever happened with the NPC line that was buzzed about on the first page of this thread a year ago? I don’t see any solicits for it.

There haven't been any. It's yet another example of BBWS showing stuff off that then disappears. I'm hoping it eventually resurfaces, as I definitely want the cheerleader and the exorcist.

Seems they held a lot back to show off at SDCC at the end of July. JoeFest didn't show off anything new besides Fury Force and painted samples of Eagle Force.

I imagine SDCC will show us NPC, Raven Society, Monster Force wave 3 pt 2, Soliders of Fortune wave 2, probably more Tick/COPS/Rocketeer, etc
