Big Bad Workshop General

Just the Joe Colton head packed with The General. But pop that head on a G.I. Joe Grunt or generic soldier and it's pretty close to classic Joe.

There’s also the five pack of flocked heads that was launched at Joefest.

No idea if they’ll release later (should but maybe it’s a legal thing.)

Agents of Omega I believe will eventually do the adventure team bodies (but who knows)

Apparently they had flocked versions of the Adventure Team heads on hand as an unannounced exclusive. No word on if the painted versions are still coming or when it seems.

I’m the kinda guy who would have bought both. I don’t understand their release strategy sometimes.

It’s not quite Mezco (the only way we’re gonna release 5 points Space Ghost is give them out for free at SDCC) weird, but it is a little frustrating if they had these ready to go and limited to convention goers.

As someone who meticulously routes and budget my convention energy and money, yeah, surprise drops are a dicklips move.

I love Larry Hama and love his GI Joe, but I rarely feel the need to by "creator as an action figure" action figures. Didn't need Lucas as a Stormtrooper, certainly didn't need McFarlane's action figure. I do have Stan Lee.....maybe because he was actually, physically inserted into MCU movies....he's the only one though, and it's likely going to stay that way.

Yeah... I respect the hell out of Hama but the figure is a skip for me. I think maybe the invisible man is too.... The all bandaged look hits funny. We'll see. I know I skipped a couple of O:MF figures, that I changed my mind about but are now sold out...

I mean Hama cameos is Snake Eyes

Ahhhh.....you know.....I never saw that movie. I bought it for a few bucks at Walmart.....still can't do it.
If you imagine it as a Snake Eyes cosplay, it kinda works as a low grade popcorn B movie. BTW, Storm Shadow in that movie is the only thing that keeps it from being a total slog.

In the current anti-system attitude of US society, I just don’t see how you can pull off a successful GI Joe movie, unless you set it in the 1980s or something.

Have Cobra secretly working with American CIA operatives to cause regime change in Val Verde (after the events of Commando and Predator, that is), and GI Joe finds out about it and goes rogue to stop it.

You should read Doc's file cards.

Even before that, weren't we all workshopping a retro-futuristic 80s version?
We were indeed.
Or, at least, agreeing that a retro-futuristic 1980s is where Joe as it exists in the official lore best lives.
