Marvel Legends Gamerverse

Just pre-ordered on Pulse. This Wolverine looks so damn good and so does the rest of the line for the most part. I don't own Silver Samurai so it makes sense for me. Psylocke is another big want for me, but I will just wait til she's in stores I think. I can't think of a time I EVER heard anyone here happy with Target pre-orders. I usually find their stuff on shelves easily as long as I time it right.

Just got Boricua Miles, Black Suit Gamerverse Peter and the Anti-Venom look.

I really liked how Boricua looked online, but honestly, I think this is my go-to Miles now. One of the things I've been hoping for was a grown-up Miles who looks grown - they've done tons of great young/teen MM but I was kinda hoping they'd do a height of his superhero career build and this one really feels like that to me. The flag colors pop so well, too.

Anti-Venom's on an older body but hey, he looks cool. Fun figure. And they went to town on the venomized Peter and it's the first time Pete in his black suit FEELS alien to me, and I love it. I still love the last two smooth-surface black suits, but this is gonna be my go-to for when the symbiote is there and it isn't just a costume choice. Also the venom webbing is a really nice touch - I didn't notice they were going to include that. Really cool.

Should have Miles 2099 tomorrow and now I'm psyched he might be similarly cool, and super bummed Black Cat has been bumped back a month from the rest of the wave from Pulse.

Tired: MvC character designs

Wired: Tōkon Fighting Souls character designs

Never heard of it before now, but I checked it out. I love that the art appears to be drawn, but I bet they're 3D models with insanely good animated-style textures. But I'm really not sure yet whether they used sprites, i.e. still frame drawn art, or 3D graphics. I'm sure I'll figure it out once I start playing it. If the camera rotates around and you see different sides of the character then it's 3D models. I never fully liked the 3D models Capcom put into their games after Marvel vs. Capcom 2 and much prefer this game to those.

My immediate impression of the character designs is they appear more heavily anime-influenced than I'm liking, but I can see it growing on me. The Capcom art was also somewhat anime-influenced; just not as much as this new game.

Here's a trailer showing the gameplay. Looks pretty fun.

I’m still not entirely sold on this. There is something about this game that reminds me of those old Mugen fan made games that used to come out in the early to mid 2000’s. It rings of a pet project that wasn’t officially endorsed by Marvel

Missed wolverine and silver samurai on Amazon, what was the price there? BBTS has it up for $60 minus the tariff surcharge and that just feels nuts.
Whenever the price of a two pack is revealed I quick get to doing my 4th grade division. 60 divided by 2 equals........eh, no, not an ideal price. No doubt Psylocke Thanos will be higher.

Keep in mind the tariffs are back down to 2% again for the time being and just last week the Supreme Court said Trump may not reinstate them

It's made by Arc Systems Works, who have been making fighters for a long time. They're known for their Guilty Gear games, and used this 3D cel-shaded style in their last game(s). It's going to be a big deal, maybe not Marvel Rivals big, but big. The only question at this point will be if it's balanced for long-term tournament play. In the short term, it's going to be a fun, popular, beautiful fighter.

I considered ordering this set but just couldn't bring myself to. I don't care about the video game its based on and the too wide head fins and too long claws. And the Silver Samurai isnt different enough from the one I own to spend $30 each other.

I don’t think any tariff related cases have made it to the SC yet. A trade court made a ruling that was immediately stayed pending appeal. Even if they were ruling were to stand for this week companies are in a crap position with all of the uncertainty - if you can’t be confident there won’t be arbitrary tax hikes at the whims of a maniac, you’re going to default to a higher price.

Yeah this figure has Mafex style articulation from the looks of it but much better quality because it won’t fall apart in your hands.
To be fair, I haven't had a MAFEX figure fall apart in my hands in nearly a decade.
Don't be silly, it's literally unveiled during a worldwide Sony State of Play using one of the most popular and recognizable IPs on the planet. Of course it's getting released everywhere.
Yeah, it was revealed in a State of Play the same week as Summer Game Fest. It's getting an international release.
And saying there's no substance is incredibly premature, it's a very peculiar stance to take in my eyes. Arcsys are one of the top developers of fighting games of the last decade.
@vicious alluded to it. They aren't just one of the top developers of the last decade. They have a storied history in the genre.
Ah...Decisions, decisions. I really do like the new Wolverine but we'll see him again.
Same. I want him, but I'll wait for the brown-costume re-release.

I always love Wolverine figures and I don't think I've bought one since love triangle, so I'm due 😂 (not that that one is bad by any means, I just mean, it's just fun to get new ones!)

Really digging the huge fins, proportions, and articulation. However, for $60 on the pack, I'll sure be watching early reviews for any good reason to cancel, or even return.

Just getting these thoughts out before they're drowned in complaints about Target not having the Psylocke pack ;)

I'll be back when Juggernaut goes up...him and Wolverine got the biggest glow ups in the set IMO (not counting first time Shuma).

He means that the Mafex Wolverine whose look is also based upon Capcom reference art has arms that easily fall apart at the biceps swivel. If you don't specifically hold them together as you work the arm articulation then it falls right apart, but once you realize it does that it's fairly trivial to work with in a way that doesn't fall apart. That figure came out on 2020, but they did do a re-release a year or two ago that I've heard doesn't do that anymore.

You could tell that Wolverine was based upon Capcom art for several reasons. One was they showed him in several win poses from the games in their promo images, and the other is that he had blue tiger stripes that people complained about endlessly but matched the loading and win animations before and after matches.

I don't know what tariffs were before all of this but 2% doesn't sound like a lot. If you're implying this is a reason for Hasbro to ease off on raising prices, you're right. But why do I expect they won't do that?

Haven’t tariffs been sitting at 30% on Chinese imports for the last month or so after they backed off from the insane escalation? Not sure where 2% came from.
