That will be tough, given they've only had to deal with the easygoing and forgiving toy community so far! (I jest)the most minutiae-oriented, belligerent fanbase in the world
Hang in there. I hear the next Kickstarter campaign is for Mythic Cards! If funded you will be able to buy your figures and have your debt all in one place. Each faction will come with its own card and if you go with the all in package the corresponding figures will come with action figure scaled Mythic Cards so they too can go into debt. The Kickstarter exclusive figure is a brute sized figure named Debbtorjjkll.I'm ten's of millions down as it is in this fake history of mine. What's a few hundred more?
They’ve said Kickstarter is having issues with calculating shipping and you will be charged a lower rate when they ship (plus sales tax).

This, but louder and with more expletives.I will say though "our guy is going to make the game himself" is some top tier overconfidence. Developing a game is HARD, balancing it is harder, and selling it to the most minutiae-oriented, belligerent fanbase in the world is harder still. First thing I would've done if I had 4H money for a kickstarter was look to see if someone like Teos Abadea, Dan Dillon, someone with track record was available as a consultant and thrown some money at them to get it right. Especially because honestly, I could run a Mythoss game on my own with books I own in like, 24 hours, so you gotta do something special to make the game worth buying, cos if you don't, any mid-skilled DM could just do it with existing materials.
They literally have no clue how much shipping will cost, and from what I hear from other folks doing kickstarters, there's probably not a way for them to find out until it's time. Shipping stuff, especially if you're getting any part of your package from overseas manufacturers, is a goddamn nightmare from everything I've been hearing. The fluctuation due to all sorts of factors is truly astonishing. Why does the range on shipping vary so wildly and why can I not be given a shipping quote on checkout? Not committing to ""whatever we feel like" shipping up to $75. I don't want two milquetoast figures and a couple extras THAT bad.
Yeah, maybe I'm too deeply invested in the gaming world but "our guy Broski will do it, it'll be fine" is the ultimate go fuck yourself for the game portion of this. "We've brought veteran game designer XYZ in to consult with us" might mean interesting ideas. Game design isn't rocket science but it is, in fact, a science. This, but louder and with more expletives.
I assumed it would all be coming out of New Jersey or wherever on the east coast that most of the 4H we order comes from, no? Even if they do just allot me the cheapest shipping, that's still $10 more than what I normally pay for shipping 4H stuff. I mostly just wanted some head addons, but you have to buy a figure for that. So the more I whittle down what I don't want it makes the shipping a larger portion of the overall price respectively, leaving me in the "why bother" camp. I'll have to see how badly I want any of it closer to the end. Mostly I just looked at it as a means of diversifying the medieval looking characters I already have, so obviously the overall project wasn't meant for me.They literally have no clue how much shipping will cost, and from what I hear from other folks doing kickstarters, there's probably not a way for them to find out until it's time.
