JADA TOYS General Thread

There was talk on Kaiju Daddy's YouTube that Bandai is trying or was trying to dip into MK.
I don't know if that's something I'd even want. Bandai America's stuff sucks balls (like their Walmart Dragonball stuff). And I actually don't really love a lot of SHF stuff (not to mention how expensive it is in Canada most of the time). I'd check it out if it happened, though.

I'm not a regular SHF customer, but they're no longer a brand I blindly trust. It's the weird articulation schemes, over-engineered figures, and hideous crotch covers. They got too high on their own supply.

I hear you. I was curious if that might have been the dealings that locked Jada out, is all.

Yeah, the last few I tried out were instant returns. Articulation, overengineering, the fixation on robes and dresses when they could make stuff that articulates.

Definitely bought their own hype.

Somebody going to my Target is ticking me off because everyday the SF figures look like they've been shifted around from the day before. I can't tell if someone is getting there before me or if it's someone after me front the previous day. Why does everybody have to touch everything? I go in and can see it's Chun Li and Dhalsim without moving them around.

The above was a partial joke with a hint of the truth.

I would expect it to be McFarlane. Seems like SHF, maybe because of where they're based, are able to get around existing licensing deals. Weren't/aren't they still releasing Street Fighter at the same time as Jada, Power Rangers at the same time as Hasbro and Super7, and of course DC, Marvel, and Star Wars. I think they somehow get to kind of exist in their own bubble as import toys, whereas McFarlane and Jada both inhabit that domestic, available-at-Walmart space and are therefore in direct competition with each other if they're allowed to share a license.

I picked up Tony the Tiger and he's phenomenal. So much so that I got Chester Cheetah and Boo Berry with Count and Frank on the way. This line is so good it makes me forget that they are capitalist mascots designed to sell me food that should not be consumed by human beings.
*Fun and colorful* capitalist mascots designed to sell me food that should not be consumed by human beings.

I was hesitant to get these figures for this reason; I didn't really need commercials represented on my shelves. But, the fun and colorful aspect, plus my 2025-induced increased desire for innocence and nostalgia to simpler times, made me order them all. They are supposed to be arriving from bbts next week. I am so excited!

I hope Jada has a couple more food mascots on display at SDCC. I think the Kool-Aid Man would be a hit. Maybe Toucan Sam or Cap'n Crunch, too. Are there any other capitalist diabetes mascots folks are hoping make it into the line?

Protip, pick up a 005 or 010 Micron and "panel line" the basketball on Tony the Tiger, it looks infinitely better.

Nobody's going to mention the Trix rabbit?

If we have Lucky the leprechaun, we need the rabbit for the opposite side of the coin in the display (who's after the cereal in each case).

I'd buy all the figures for the characters folks have suggested. I'd be down for them to make at least 15 figures. I would even buy all three of the cinnamon toast crunch guys. How big would the Jolly Green Giant be?

Honestly I don't know that I'd need him to scale much with the others but I'd like for him to be a bit taller. He also needs to come with the little guy, was his name Sprout? He can be a deluxe figure. Larger with a minimum articulation pack in figure.
