JADA TOYS General Thread

Someone on YouTube said they want Jada to make Looney Toon figures since their food mascot figures have turned out well so far. Like food mascots, collecting Looney Toon figures hadn't occurred to me. Now that it was suggested, I'm in! It turns out Jada has already made metal Looney Toon figurines. So, it seems like getting articulated figures from Jada is definitely a possibility. I think there would be a market for them.

Wanted Looney Tunes for a while now, and these cereal figures definitely had me eyeing Jada as a possibility.

Looney Tunes is one of my top 5 most wanted lines that haven't been made yet. It moved up in the order when Jada checked off Scooby Doo and Neca did Sesame Street.

I wonder how many figures Jada is currently capable of producing a year and if that will grow. By this time next year, I would love for them to finish their Street Fighter line (5? more figures), release at least 3 more food mascots (Fred and Barney plus one more), and start a Looney Toons line with at least 3 figures. Adding their Scooby-Doo and Cyberpunk lines, plus potentially Invincible, I may have unrealistic hopes for their production capabilities.

The last thing I want them to do is go the Super 7 route and announce a new license every few weeks and end up having super long production times and end up canceling lines because they are just throwing too much stuff at their customers and QC is suffering because they took on too much at once.

But I want Looney Tunes.

It's impossible to say. How big is Jada willing to grow? How fast can they grow without compromising quality? How much influence can they have over their factories to maintain decent run schedules versus getting bumped for bigger companies? There's a lot of variables we aren't privy to.

No one wonders if Hasbro can 'handle' Star Wars and Marvel at the same time, ya' know? We'll have to wait and see.

I'm still pissed off that the existence of McFarlane Mortal Kombat likely means we are not getting Jada MK anytime in the foreseeable future. That's what I wanted most from them at this point. I've wanted compatible MK and SF figures forever. Only time we've ever gotten it was when they both had G.I. Joe figures. Those were the days.

We only get 3 Mega Man figures a year--and they have several waves already planned--if that gives any clue how much they can currently output.

Their already slow production speed is my biggest hangup with Jada. My Scooby loving souls weeps when I realize how long it will be before the gang is assembled on my shelf, nevermind getting a good supply of monsters.

I was surprised to see someone walking around with a Tony the TIger at Target. I didn't realize these would be sold at big box bricks and mortar. Was Chester Cheetah available this way? Or Count Chocula, Frankenberry, etc?

I found my Tony at Target and Chester is allegedly also starting to hit there now but I don't think there has ever been any sightings of the previous mascots so probably a new deal.

They specifically addressed MK at one point and just said that the license “wasn’t available”, which I just assume meant that McFarlane has it all tied up

I saw a lone Tony at my local Target last week and was also really surprised to see it there. I have never seen any other Jada mascot characters at Target, just Street Fighter. I was tempted to buy it because it looks really good and I loved Frosted Flakes as a kid (I mean, I still do, but I try to stay away from that stuff), but I had to stop myself because I definitely don't need Tony the Tiger on my shelf.

I forgot about their Mega Man line. I think Juhn said they are intentionally going slow with that line because they want to make sure sales are high enough before starting production of the next wave. That could just be a cover for them being at maximum production capacity, though. Either way, it seems like Jada has a lot of figures already in the works that need to get made before they would be able to take on a new license. I can be patient for Looney Toon figures.
