Wrestling Toys (Mattel WWE, Jazwares AEW, etc.)

I know that some of the chases have held value, but the most reliable aftermarket prices for AEW are Sting figures; his fandom is evergreen and it feels unlikely he'll sign any sort of Legends deal with WWE when he can just run his own merchandising. (To this day, the only AEW chase I've found in person was the Blade Runner Sting, which went to a friend of mine who's the biggest Sting fan I've ever met.) Largely it feels like the aftermarket cratered for the line.

The bulk of my wrestling collection is women's roster and AEW's at least provided a reasonable number of names that haven't gotten figures elsewhere. My hope is that they'll somehow get out a Mina Shirakawa before the line ends, but that doesn't seem super likely at this point. That Timeless Toni showing up on the Jazwares Vault in the Walmart exclusive packaging seems about as official a death knell as they're going to give us. I'm sure they can keep this going on Ringside and the Vault while the license is still active, but at this point I assume anything that still gets released is stuff that's already been through the design process and the best I can hope for is a Mina in the Big Rubber Guys line.
 
I don't expect to see anything shown at SDCC, to be honest.

I also don't like Jeremy Padawer's answer when asked by the MWF Podcast about the license, and all he said is "We will be releasing AEW figures in 2026".

Way to not answer the question, you little twerp weasel.

I follow Mercedes on insta, and have about six of her Elites, but totally forgot they could even make an AEW figure out of her. It's a shame the female figures don't have the lower ball torso joint of the males, I'd probably buy them up. Even though they have just the most awful ugly pegs in existence. Normally I don't care about pegs but those big elbow pins are so distracting.

This new Tiffany Stratton might be overpriced but dang if it's not the best female wrestling figure I've ever owned by a mile. Just need to find them in person so I can get one with better paint, preferably at Walmart so I can swap my old BBTS copy in and return it as defective. Because fuck walmart.
 
Did they show the WWE Mattel Mariah May at any point?

Maybe I'll burn some of this gift card on Stratton. It's the heads that throw me.
 
I haven't seen a WWE Blake Monroe yet but I did get the AEW Mariah May. It's a mixed bag of a figure, but that's typical of this line. I put the Elite 113 Tiffany Stratton head on the Ultimate Edition figure and it looks a lot better imo.
 
I guess they still make Hogan figures, so nothing is really off-limits.

Oh, you need to read up on the lore of New Jack. The man was a massive, MASSIVE piece of shit. And did it all under the guise of "You get in the ring with me, you know what you're getting yourself into", basically excusing himself for all of his actions. It's the OTHER person's fault for what HE does in the ring.

Multiple attempted murders, legitimately.

Intentionally tried to throw a wrestler by the name of Vic Grimes off of a scaffold 30 feet in the air PAST the ring to the concrete.

Stabbed a man who ended not being a professionally trained wrestler and "stiffed" him.

Beat an elderly wrestler by the name of Gypsy Joe with a baseball bat and chain, etc.

He was in a relationship ship with Terri Runnels aka Marlena and attempted to distribute photos of her as a form of revenge porn.

He disowned a son that was a drag queen...

He was just not a good guy.
