U.S. Politics

If anyone else uses it, it's not charming or cute or funny, it's grounds for an ass-whooping.
So there was this guy in high school (it was the 90s, just for context). This dude was VERY white and VERY suburban, like most of the kids at my fancy-pants all-boys Catholic “college preparatory”. Now this guy had a lot of other shitty things going for him, like being a sex pest/probable sexual assault guy, and really basically the most revolting would-be “player” ever (“I wanna put both hands inside you and applaud you”, said to a 14 year old girl, for example). He was ALSO obsessed with the macho urban image presented in rap/hip-hop music videos of the time, and actually got a pair of pants tail so he could wear the waistband at a normal level but still appear to “sag” in the crotch.
. . . so this guy comes running around the corner of a block of classrooms one day, obviously terrified.

“Ace, Ace, you gotta help me!”
“Oh? What happened?l”
“I was just in the locker room, and all I did was say ‘what up, my n——s!’”

It was at this point I realized he was being *chased*, by literally every single melanated kid in the entire school. They were PISSED. This dude tried to hide behind my large-for-a-16-year-old, black-belt-having ass.

“Ohh, did you? Guess you’re fucked then.”

I stepped out of the way and watched as the dude got destroyed before a teacher finally, reluctantly broke it up.

Of course, this piece of human shit is MAGA right now.

Maga is so deeply rooted in conspiracy stuff, I don't see them letting this go.
I agree with you, though this Tim Pool take had me second-guessing myself. This is about yesterday's vote to release the Epstein Files.

MAGA wants nothing more than to continue worshipping their messiah. It's within the realm of possibility that they spin this so hard it confirms their priors.

FWIW, this is where I'm at:

I'm confident Donald Trump was an Epstein client. I have doubts about whether a client list exists and extreme doubts about whether he was murdered. Doesn't matter. Democrats need to milk this for all it's worth.

Growing up in the Midwest, there was a lot of that passive racism in my school too. Unfortunately, it was often the rich white parents who were funding things for the school (sports-wise, at least, which of course was the pride and joy; couldn't be bothered to spare a penny for the arts, but that's a whole other discussion), so not that it happened often, but on the rare occasions a student of color did stand up for themselves, the white kid always got off scot-free because they and their parents would play the victim card and threaten to withold funding. Hiding behind stacks of money is a lesson that's taught at an early age and never seems to leave the person, unfortunately.

Eh, normalizing it makes people follow. Making Nazis be afraid again seems the better goal.
There's your campaign slogan: make Nazis afraid again.
Guess you’re fucked then
I have a remarkably similar story. By high school, I was out of Catholicism and went to a very diverse school in San Diego, but we did have two skinheads. I was friends with both when we were all skaters but by junior year they had veered a different way, and they said something similar to one black guy, then all his friends joined him in stomping them at lunch. Police converged etc etc. One had his jaw shattered and the other got a plate in his head. I try to not condone violence but they literally asked for it.

JESUS FUCKING CHRIST!!! Just nevermind. Fuck it.

The pretzels these fucking scumbags will twist themselves into to find a way to stay on their talking points is INSANE. Releasing the names of the perpetrators is pedophilia? I'd say that's a bridge too far but their dumfuck rock stupid listeners will just neck this latest talking point like the last pint before closing time and swallow it whole. We're at the mercy of the stupidest motherfuckers ever to be born with opposable thumbs.

And Pool et. al. KNOW it's bullshit, but their followers don't, and THAT is the bigger problem.

The world is and has always been a ying yang. It's up to every person to reckon with that as they can. But I find it's best to cultivate and tend to a psychological garden that allows for the greatest amount of internal and external health, which takes a lot of work. Living in a fake world watching cartoons all day is bad, living in a fake world watching horrible things on the news is bad. You can be lost in the dark, you can be light blinded, but the challenge of life is holding on to health when the rot comes, and growing a personality that maybe heals more than it hurts, at the end of the day. The best of our species have a pretty great ratio there—that's what I look to for hope when the going gets tough, and participating in redemptive communities that do physical, positive work in the world can open doors and rewrite the scene. One of the best things about us is that so many of us are depressed... because we want a better world. Because we want a better world. That is, at least, step 1.

Pool is such a creepy little shit, too. It always cracks me up that he's the last man on earth who thinks wearing a beanie twelve months a year hides his male pattern baldness. Lil man, you're bald, it's okay, so am I, take the hat off and let some sun into that rotted little skull of yours.
