This whole situation would be hilarious if it weren't so vile. Just a bunch of really powerful men making absolutely certain they're not all outed as pedos. Which, like, why do they even care? It's not like anything will ever happen to them. We ALREADY KNOW Donnie is a pedo. He used to peak at girls changing backstage at those gross 'oogle a child' shows.

The more wild thing is how badly all the right wing grifters wanted the names on that list right up until it was obvious Trump was on that list. Then it was just a big hoax and Democrats are -disgusting- for wanting to reveal the hoax, which is definitely child porn, but also a hoax and doesn't exist.
In my wildest nightmares I could not have conceived of the world we are currently living in.
 
Yeah, Christ. Even removing all the pedophilia stuff from that conversation, they're just dumb and gross people anyway. Jesus. All the wink wink, we know a secret nonsense? Ugh on its own. Add in the other stuff, can we please finally admit this guy is a horrible fucking piece of shit who should never have been allowed to run let alone take office?
 
Let's not forget that there are, most likely, big name democrats on that list. So neither side has been exactly keen on releasing the details for fear of harming big names on their own side.

Until I see otherwise I am not going to put too much stock into how long this story lasts because Trump and his MAGA sheep have shown an incredible level of willingness to ignore the most vile things imaginable so long as they can "own the libs" and hurt black and brown people. So while I am ever hopeful that something, maybe the Epstein files, will finally take Trump down and bring some of his sheep back to their senses, I have yet to see any evidence that will happen. Still the more likely scenario is that they'll move on to the next thing fairly quickly.

Which is ridiculous because I want them out too. If you firmly believe your party is the best, then anyone who betrays your ideals, particularly in such a horrendously vile, predatory way, you should want not only outed but prosecuted as hard as possible. I don't care WHO this topples, burn them all. I thought they were the But The Children party.
 
Dems protecting shitty Dems and I'm over here like 87% of the performers, writers, and artists I respected in my lifetime have turned out to be sexual predators, rip the bandaid off guys, you can live without the fucking creeps, monsters, and scumbags you think you need on your side, it's okay. If I can never read Sandman again you can live without Senator Whatwhoeverthefuck, just salt the earth and be done with it.
 
I might be a bit naive but I truly thought that the vast majority of Trump voters already knew about Trump and Epstein's relationship and just didn't care, just like they didn't care about all of Trump's other sex crimes

I'm wary of getting my hopes up but I'm very curious to see how Ol' Donny Trump wriggles his way out of this jam. at least he's saving us the trouble of having to antagonize his supporters.
 
I had been assuming this whole time the MAGA cultists calling for the list were just engaging in some deflection, I didn’t think any of them really wanted it to come out and most assumed Trump was tied into it. To see so many who genuinely want it released that apparently never considered Trump was on it is funny, but also just confusing. I’m guessing most really are siloed and when the Epstein arrest and suicide took place none of the right wing outlets showed the many photos or that one really creepy video of the two together.

It’s gone to full fledged conspiracy theory and nothing short of a list of names with details on what they were getting out of Epstein will satisfy them. And I doubt such a thing exists. There’s probably some correspondence the FBI collected and names associated with Epstein in that fashion. And I bet Trump isn’t the only former president to be among those names.

His friends in the media will help cover it up or shift focus elsewhere. The (supposedly liberal) New York Times and Washington Post decided the sitting president's personal letter to history's most notorious pedophile was not worthy of front-page coverage. And as @AceofKnaves has said,

I can't believe they haven't done it yet. A fake list with Bill Clinton, Nancy Pelosi, and Chuck Schumer would probably satiate their base.
 
3 months is probably generous. There’s a decent chance we’re done with this before Labor Day.

This is my take, too. There are certainly plane records and correspondence, but if there were truly a list of who committed what crime and when, arrests would've already been made by either administration. Even if Trump's name was on such a list, he would've already redacted and released such a potent political weapon.

What seems more likely is that Trump thought he could pull another QAnon and ride the wave of a far-right conspiracy theory because few things animate his base like the shibboleth of sharing "secret knowledge", be it conspiracy theories or plain old Evangelism. Only this movement has a very specific goal that Trump can't actually deliver and, "Shut up and do what I tell you", isn't the satisfying answer Trump thought it was.

Releasing a fake or heavily doctored list would be a double-edged sword because if Trump wants to make any arrests, then the defendants get to learn the provenance of said incriminating list.
 
I think a lot of people have the wrong idea of what the Epstein List would be. Amazing as it would be to have a giant list of people and their exact crimes, it's far more likely that a list does exist and that it's just a list of people that went to Epstein's island and how often they did so, and for how long.

That list will never amount to arrests. But it would be socially and politically devastating. Which is why it's going to be suppressed or heavily doctored before release. Epstein ran a child-rape island. ANY definitive list of who went there and how often and for how long will destroy lives (as it should). That's what these people are so afraid of. You may not go to jail for it, but having 'child rapist' stamped on your forehead for the rest of your life isn't exactly going to make life easier.
