There's a significant likelihood that once tourism to the National/State Parks plummets due to this and American poverty they'll use it as justification to sell the land off to the corporations to either strip mine or run them at some other profitable means.

Straight fact: I realized the Drake Equation was going to result in zero when the SCOTUS installed Dubya. There's been a couple of moments of hope against that in the interim; but that Russian & Canadian permafrost keeps thawing into the air and rancid fuckwipes keep betraying us for profit and power. I'm just glad I don't have any children.

My partner and I talk about how we're glad we didn't have kids all the time. Well, not glad, relieved. And we didn't because we waited til we were financially secure, and then when we were financially secure she wasn't healthy enough to be a parent anymore (her words, not mine - she struggles health-wise enough that we both agree I'd basically be single-parenting right now) but also we're not leaving a world behind for future generations, we're leaving a tomb.

I've got gaggle of nieces and nephews to worry about so it's not like I'm disconnected from it all, but I'm sincerely relieved I didn't add MORE people for me to worry about, I've got enough worrying about everyone else's kids.

Boston should know better than to allow this. Every other state it doesn't surprise me. But Massholes are a different breed and I can't believe ICE has been able to operate at all in the state without all ending up in shallow graves out in Berkshire.
