The Complaint Thread

Gotta break up the discussion of school to complain about the lack of responsibility when it comes to missing packages. Been trying to track my missing Mace vs. Palpy pack from Hasbro- says it was delivered last week, but it ain't here. Neighbors ain't seen it. Asked landlord to check the cameras- nothing. It ain't the first time I've had a shipper just drop my package off somewhere completely different from my place. Why? I don't know. Maybe they wanna end their day or something.

I call FedEx to try and see if they have any further info. They tell me the package is available for pickup. Cool. I ask where. Guy asks if he can put me on hold. Sure. Comes back two minutes later and says not only can he not tell me where it's available for pickup, but that he can't guarantee it even is available for pickup, and only Hasbro can contact them to open an investigation. Ay yi yi. So I call Hasbro, and the lady, while very nice, just immediately initiates a refund before asking if I wanted one. Which is nice and all, but I still want my stuff if possible, but being out of stock, a refund is their only option. I apologized for the inconvenience but did ask if it was possible to open an investigation; she said only her higher ups could, so she'd forward it along to them and reach out when she had an answer either way.

This is far from the first time this has happened, and not just with FedEx, though they are the most egregious ones. One time, if I wanted my package, I had to go to the regional hub or whatever it was- it was literally some underground bunker type place located past all these factories. Had to walk through the parking garage, down 3 flights of stairs to this little room- I'm talking little, with a one-way window, had to ring a bell and wait for someone to slide a little slot in the wall aside and ask what I was there for. I got my package, but it was the most surreal thing I've maybe ever experienced. Legit felt like a secret government building that I wasn't supposed to be in. I ain't expecting the package at this point, but if it is possible to get it, I hope I don't have to go through all that again.

Anywho. My complaint is just with shipping services in general. It's an endless cycle- one will frustrate me to the point I swear off using them so I'll switch to a new one, they'll be fine for a while and then do something to frustrate me to the point of swearing off using them, and repeat.

P.S.- literally as I posted this I got an email back from Hasbro saying they can't open an investigation with FedEx. Lovely. I'm glad I got my money back, but man, they sure do know how to frustrate a guy.

this should never have been necessary
but I guess people do have to leave their 3rd world country to get health care 😒
My partner and her niece both needed the same reconstructive surgery in recent years. Her niece couldn't afford it in the US and went to Mexico to have hers done. She did have to evacuate during her recovery because the neighborhood was on fire, but the recovery and end results of the surgery were better from the hospital in Mexico (less scarring, etc) and her mom, who is a nurse manager, said it was the cleanest, most advanced hospital she'd ever been inside.

Or like James van der Beek announcing he's selling many of his old Dawson's Creek memorabilia to help raise funds for his cancer treatments. If even celebs can't afford treatment, imagine what it's doing to the wallets of everyday folks.

I love the propaganda America has against other countries like China and Mexico and the rest of the world in regards to anything.

Give it a few months of everyone just refusing to buy tickets to shows and things would change really damn fast. But humans are absolute trash and any level of solidarity is always too much to ask. That's why nothing changes and we're all sitting around with overpriced shoes on our necks.

Any ticket site, really. The fact that nothing has been done to curb the absolute highway robbery they get away with is maddening. People keep mentioning they're going to, and then just never do.

Dare I ask what they did now?
I had all the pre-authorization codes and VIP.

Did not matter. The venue is like a 2,700 person audience. Even 30 minutes early on the website to join the q right when it popped 15 minutes before, I launched into the first date of this show at 7,900, and the second date at 14,000 something.

I endured it and when I made it in there was one clickable seat and I already knew when I clicked it that it wasn't actually there.

It's just a personal loss for me. I so rarely go to the Ticketmaster shows, most of the shows I go to you can grab tickets through the record store or the venue.

Tickets are also protected and non-transferable so I think I'm SoL.

Sour start to my weekend.

Ugh, I'm so sorry. Had many similar incidents. God knows how their actual system works, but I've heard that it doesn't really matter when you jump into the queue, once sales open up, it's all randomized. I've jumped on half an hour early and been like 200,000 in line, and I've jumped on 5 minutes early and been 600 in line. There's really no telling how they do things. I've noticed lately too that, depending on the venue, they're holding back more and more seats from the initial sale just to drive up demand, and then releasing them sporadically before the show. Resellers always drop their prices as the show nears; I've gotten tickets minutes before a show's started because the resellers just wanted to get rid of them at that point.

Also, not sure if it's an option for you, but I've had some luck actually going to the physical box office lately. Sometimes they're a-holes about it and refuse to sell you things, but sometimes they're cool. Worth a shot if you can. Hope it works out for you!
