Spinmaster Shapes Collection PlayStation Figures

I just keep thinking that they’re waiting on some media tie in or a state of play, but if I remember correctly, they announced wave one on some random day.
 
I have been satisfied with this line so far. There are some issues, but the pros outweigh the cons for me.

Biggest issue with this line is we have no idea if it's going to keep going or not. There's just no communication with the fans from what I can tell.

I'd definitely be down for more characters from God of War, Like Freya, Thor, and Odin. I don't necessarily see it selling well but I'd buy Kohtun Khan too.

I think for this line to be successful they'll need to gain more momentum and keep it up. If they go dormant too long, people will lose interest.
 
I feel like this line is going to go the way of Funko Legacy. They made a VERY DECENT, but ultimately also flawed set of figures that people said they liked but had criticisms of that they wanted to see fixed. So Spinmaster is like 'fine, fuck you guys,' taking their ball and going home. Could be wrong. That's just the feeling I get.
 
I did actually end up seeing this line in-store for the first time while visiting family in Massachusetts this past weekend. GameStop had a couple Kratos on the shelf. Wasn't much of a presence at all, but it's something, and will hopefully help sales and interest a little bit. Oddly enough, when I came back home to NY, I took a peek in my local GameStop, and not only did they not have them, the employee didn't seem to know what they were.
 
I only have the Kratos but he's quickly become my favorite Kratos, and I love the Neca ones. He's just more fun to pose around, he poses easily and stands well in the poses. I gave him a slight repaint and he looks awesome. His weapons are a bit too small and under-detailed, though.

But yeah, I really wish this line continues. At the very least I want a Thor, Freya and maybe some greek saga stuff too. I would love some Bloodborne/demon's souls figures too, but that's a pipe dream at best.
 
I'd like these figures to improve, but the quality of the line is ultimately meaningless to me until they provide a character selection that has anything I'd want to buy. This is product that exists to be product, with the half-baked figures and a roster that feels like a corporate marketing push and nothing more.
 
Just found the Horizon Aloy figure from this line at Ross. $10. I have no connection to the game but thought she could maybe fit in with my Mythic Legions barbarians, so I picked her up.

Dang, that's pretty amazing for that figure! Did they happen to have any more? 😅 Ya'll with Rosses that actually stock things (and just with Rosses in general) are pretty lucky!
 
Well, these ending up at Ross is not a great sign. Although 10 bucks for Aloy is great, I might even buy a second one at that price if I saw it.

I'm thinking the line is dead, but I'd love it if that weren't the case.

They had at least 2-3 more after the one I got. They're probably gone by now, but I can keep an eye out for you, if you need/want one. I do love shopping at Ross. But my area lacks Ollies and Dollar General, so there are some tradeoffs.
 
Man $10 Aloy is crazy. I was quite enthusiastic about this line but it really stumbled out the gate. I'm not sure they've even made it to the UK. I do want to pick up Joel & Ellie at some point.
 
I've started to see more and more of them at my local GameStops- still only Kratos and Joel/Ellie, but the fact they seem to finally be trickling out to brick and mortar is a good sign, I guess? I still think they could sell decently in the collector's section of the big box stores, but if there's any target audience, it would definitely be gamers.
 
So these are not showing up at Targets then? The only time I've seen them on shelves anywhere was at 2nd and Charles and they didn't have Aloy who is really the only one I would grab on impulse. They had both Kratos and Joel/Ellie.
