Spinmaster Shapes Collection PlayStation Figures

Bummer we haven't heard more on this.

Aloy was outstanding, and Ellie and Joel were great despite the torso solution they figured out, as far as I care. Kratos and Boy are also solid.

I will always be thankful they gave me these characters, if nothing else.

What was the leaked wave 2?
 
I never got the Neca Joel and Ellie and even then this one was a no go for me because of Ellie's odd torso articulation.

I have both, and they both have flaws. I would argue NECA's barely articulate give the range. But the pull apart torso to shove a pistol in Ellie's back pocket is such a cool touch.

I think Joel looks worse than Ellie with their torso design. Once you post Ellie up with the rifle or shotgun (she can shoulder AND eye it), you don't even see the torso thanks to the weapon.

I'm saying, give it a shot if you find a price that entices. It looks worse zoomed in on videos and pics than it does in hand or on a desk fighting Batman.
 
The Last of Us is a top 3 game of all time for me, if not #1 but for whatever reason video game figures just don't do a lot for me. I think it's because so many different companies make them and they never display well together due to the varying styles and scales. I love world-building and that's hard to do with video games figures vs something like TMNT, MOTU, or Marvel Legends.

It just seems that when I do take the plunge and buy one it always ends up being the first thing that gets packed up when I need space.

Plus we really need some clickers or other monsters.

We do need clickers!

I was hoping Spin would do Ellie vs Abby next since NECA left me hanging. I liked Abby, related more, even.

I hear you on the priority and pack ups. Always helps me streamline and fund the newest fix, hah.

I was actively hoping to be able to have Abby kill off Ellie by the end of the second game. Definitely Team Abby here.

Deacon St. John from Days Gone, Nathan Drake, another character from Horizon, Delsin Rowe from Infamous, Part 2 The Last of Us Joel, and a two pack of Joel and Ellie from the TLOU TV show.

Definitely. Robots for Horizon too. Sorry Varl, but I think a Watcher would have been a much better choice for wave one.

Such a strange choice going with TLOU2 Joel as opposed to... well anyone else frankly. Ellie, Dina, Abby, Lev. Probably a moot point now.
 
Just got Aloy for a decent price, finally. She's amazing. Her articulation just flows so nicely into poses. Her face plates add so much expression and variety to the figure, and the articulated hair, oh man. She's more expressive than pretty much any other figure in my collection. She really feels import level quality for the most part, like a cross between the best of the black series with sh figuarts. Just incredible honestly. She's not perfect obviously but man would I like to see more like her.

Really sad that spin master hasn't said anything about a series 2... and the leaks honestly feel like real weak choices for the most part. I'm hopeful they reveal something at or by SDCC, but this really does feel like the line is over. I mean it's been almost a year since these were revealed. I would have really loved to see some more God of War stuff, From Software knights, and honestly just some more cool collector oriented stuff from spin master.

Clearly what we have took a long time to make, so I'm hopeful they're still cooking whatever's next.

It's probably a strange choice only from a fan perspective. Less so from a marketing perspective. Joel is largely the actual favorite character - he's the one most players feel the most attached to (in the sense of having 'inhabited' the character directly and him being their first introduction to this world). From a marketing perspective, he's the perfect character to keep refreshing.

Of course, if you're just a fan of the games overall, yes, basically any other character makes more sense. Personally, if it has to be a two-pack and it has to include Ellie, then Dina makes the most sense. Or an enemy type to brutally murder on the shelf over and over again. But really, the two-pack from TLOU2 should be Abby and Lev - who arguably have a more compelling story in that game than Ellie and anyone else.
 
If there was a TLOU2 two pack, I'd want Ellie and Abby. That's the game, represented.

I hope we see something from them, because Astrobot and the new Ghost of Toei protag would be cool in plastic form for my desk.

I think your love of Japanese animation is showing, because the game is called Ghost of Yotei. Haha. She'll definitely make a cool figure, though. Hell, I still want to see more versions of Jin. Always the problem with games that have lots of customization, I guess.

Yeah, I could do with variants of Jin. I'll take any designs from that setting.

I was really hoping for a Freya from Ragnarok, too.

Would also love to see someone take another shot at Assassin's Creed. Maybe the market isn't there, but recent games have been pretty Action Figurable for my tastes.
