NECA - General Thread

Got this guy from GameStop today. He's plenty big enough for me and I even had a hard time fitting him in at the size he is. As long as he's big enough to swallow a Neca figure that falls squarely into the category of "this shark is scary" for me.

Saw on YouTube that some folks are beginning to receive their Art the Clown Ultimate figures they preordered from NECA. I'm wondering when they will start hitting stores like Target & Walmart.

Oddly excited for the Art the Clown figure. Never seen any of the Terrifier movies, and never will based off what I've heard of them (too much of a wuss), but it feels like it's not often we get a new horror mascot that really takes off. I feel like the last one was, what? Jigsaw maybe? And none of them, save maybe Freddy, are as expressive as Art. He'll be a fun figure.

Has anyone seen the Masque of the Red Death Phantom in stores yet? Seen a bunch of folks get theirs online, but all from the NECA store. That's the one I'm probably most excited for.

Agreed. Art's humor, and the over-the-top nature of his character, really creates a balance to the extreme gore in the films, and has cemented his place as a truly unique horror villain. We just don't get those much in modern horror the way we did in the 70s & 80s. I love how (much like Freddy, Jason, and Myers) people know who the character is even when they've never seen one of the flicks.

I know some people have found him in store, but I've yet to see him. Of course, that isn't all that surprising to me. Despite living in a large city, there are some figures that seem to never make it to stores here. I've still never once seen Vincent Price in a store, and he's been out for quite a while. Distribution is so weird.

Yes, actually! Just saw the Red Death Phantom at my Target last week (it sold already). So he is hitting stores now.

So anyone who had been sitting on the fence anout Gargoyles may want to hop off. BBTS has Goliath, Hudson and Lexington each at $16.50 today. There was one of the alt Goliath figures at that price too. Half price is pretty good.

Figures. I just went to 2 Targets on my lunch break, but didn't bother to look at NECA since I was pushing my time limit. Can't wait for Red Death.

Looks like 4 of the Gargoyles are on BBTS sale for under $20 each. Snagged a Thailog to sub in for Argent the Wolf against the Grendel that just dropped.
I'm kind of happy NECA made their Gargoyles figures off model by being extra ripped, since that is helping me resist buying them and getting into a line I don't really want to get into, even at the sale price. I've been tempted many times, especially now, but them not completely matching the look of the show has helped me resist that itch.

You'd be better off with the NECA ones, wing issues and all, as opposed to someone like Mondo 1/6th versions that are more toon accurate, but MUCH more expensive.
