Agreed. Art's humor, and the over-the-top nature of his character, really creates a balance to the extreme gore in the films, and has cemented his place as a truly unique horror villain. We just don't get those much in modern horror the way we did in the 70s & 80s. I love how (much like Freddy, Jason, and Myers) people know who the character is even when they've never seen one of the flicks.Oddly excited for the Art the Clown figure. Never seen any of the Terrifier movies, and never will based off what I've heard of them (too much of a wuss), but it feels like it's not often we get a new horror mascot that really takes off. I feel like the last one was, what? Jigsaw maybe? And none of them, save maybe Freddy, are as expressive as Art. He'll be a fun figure.
I know some people have found him in store, but I've yet to see him. Of course, that isn't all that surprising to me. Despite living in a large city, there are some figures that seem to never make it to stores here. I've still never once seen Vincent Price in a store, and he's been out for quite a while. Distribution is so weird.Has anyone seen the Masque of the Red Death Phantom in stores yet? Seen a bunch of folks get theirs online, but all from the NECA store. That's the one I'm probably most excited for.
Yes, actually! Just saw the Red Death Phantom at my Target last week (it sold already). So he is hitting stores now.Oddly excited for the Art the Clown figure. Love it when that happens!Just snagged a Michael Myers for my son too. Weird timing, he literally told me this morning that he was looking at Neca figures last night and the next one he wanted was this very one. The Toy Gods have spoken.
I'm kind of happy NECA made their Gargoyles figures off model by being extra ripped, since that is helping me resist buying them and getting into a line I don't really want to get into, even at the sale price. I've been tempted many times, especially now, but them not completely matching the look of the show has helped me resist that itch.Looks like 4 of the Gargoyles are on BBTS sale for under $20 each. Snagged a Thailog to sub in for Argent the Wolf against the Grendel that just dropped.
