Mythological/Legends/Religious Figures combo thread

We'd call it his iconic costume. FA Odysseus wearing some of that Bronze Age armor everyone loves so much. Athena disguises him a few times too. So many variants. Of man. With beard.

He also gets new clothes once or twice, right? Nausikaa, I believe, gives him clothes when he ends up naked on her beach, so that he can present himself properly to her parents, whose names I do not remember. So you could have armored Odysseus, 'sailor' Odysseus, 'disheveled' Odysseus, 'pretty clothes but still disheveled Odysseus.' Throw in Polyphemus the Cyclops, a couple Sirens, Calypso, Circe, maybe a few crew members... you've got the beginnings of a really cool Odyssey or Greek Mythology toy line. Also, double trouble for re-use potential, Odysseus is visited by the spirits of the dead on Cimmeria. So if you do an Achilles and Agamemnon as regular figures, you can also re-issue them as translucent 'spirits.'

Come on. Which awesome toy company wants in? Harvinger? Jada?

Dude, spoilers!

But I am amused we have moved from begging a company to make a single Odysseus to having him be like Wolverine and his variants anchoring a half dozen waves. I'm sure the buyers at Walmart will demand this.

Oh, it's never going to happen. I would just LIKE for it to happen.

So not 1:12 scale but Lego style, but found this and got me thinking that figures based on the Book of Mormon narrative might be kind of interesting - certainly toyetic in places. I also have to applaud the name of the company. https://www.brickemyoung.com/collections/figurines (Also, not going to lie, the Lego bicycles are fire)

There were figurines for sale at their museum in SLC when I visited a few years ago - this looks like them but I thought they had a bunch more: https://www.deseretbook.com/categor...ire-your-child_toys-and-activities_figurines/

To be fair... there's lots of companies doing LEGO-style stuff that's compatible with Myths and Legends. Sometimes figures, usually accessories. And even more if you get into the fake-LEGO stuff you can get on Ali.

So I know some of you in this thread have made fun of me, JUSTIFIED, for forgetting I'd ordered stuff, but my dumbass forgot I'd bought Baije from this thread and added him to my POL between Xmas and New Years, and when I just went to see if BBTS had processed that Xesray barbarian lady yet was like OH THATS RIGHT, I bought the pig guy!!!!! Anyway now I've decided I'll wait til tomorrow night to see if they process that one last figure and if not just hit send on the POL. I have a mythological pig man, Shaggy, and New Eternia He-Man waiting to head my way and I'm short on willpower.

I don't know why, but the fact that there are figures in both these styles of Mormon missionaries just cracks me up! Now, if only someone would make 1/12 scale Mormon missionaries to annoy Alfred when he answers the door at stately Wayne Manor!

I bet a bunch of you are aware of this, but for those of you who aren’t, here’s a tidbit of tantalizing trivia that tangentially ties into this theological thread:

The fastest selling Playmobil figure of all time was the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation Martin Luther, complete with his 95 Theses (and quill!) accessory. :)
