Mini Comic Wave 2

My Deep Discount order of Surfer, Beast, and Widow is at the USPS Teterboro distribution center, scheduled for Saturday, but since it's that close, I'm hoping they get here Friday. Holding out for my Amazon order too.
 
I got this whole wave from Pulse, and they look great. I’m thinking of holding off on opening them all because Hasbro has sent so much lately. Might be good to spread out opening it all.

Yeah, I prefer to spread the wealth as well. Otherwise, it starts to feel more like receiving in inventory than an experience that you’ve really been looking forward to.
 
Just got Surfer and opened him up. Definitely one of those impulse buys I could've skipped. Pineless is nice though, I do like the Galactus head more than the Walgreens head, more distinctive, but... really my own fault. If someone didn't have a Surfer he's great though. Just over-enthusiastic on my part.

Mentioned in the Secret Wars thread too but I'm thoroughly amused I got to open Iceman and Surfer in the same box. I gotta get some photos of these two doing aerials.
 
After I posted in this thread earlier, I started thinking about how I had encountered that Target exclusive Warbird on the pegs last year and balked, only to end up not being able to secure her in the end (and then getting ribbed by fellow members for my lack of decisive judgment), so I put my assless chaps on again and drove back to Sprawlmart to grab Rachel --who was miraculously still there on the pegs (Someone had grabbed SS in the interim).
Rachel was the only figure that I REALLY wanted anyway, so I came home and quickly canceled my preorder and will now patiently wait for a sale.
I have to say Rachel checks all the boxes: she's well-rendered, well-engineered, well-detailed, and her wing-cuffs are well-executed. Hasbro, you dun damn good.

Saw Beast tonight at Walmart. Someone tried to hide him in the overstock area, but man, is he such a nicely done figure. I didn't grab him tonight, but he will be added to the collection soon. Such a cool figure.
 
I got my case in from EE yesterday, benefit of getting the case was an automatic $20 off and the free shipping over $79. I couldn't wait to open Beast. He was the most want for me. Hasbro had to blow the budget on him. He is superbly done and the best part for me he is slightly shorter than Gladiator so not freaking huge as the old Beast is. I think Hasbro should re-sculpt the fur where the uniform covers and give him a couple new head sculpts and let this be the primo Beast going forward. Hasbro should also do a repaint of this Beast in the Secret Avengers uniform. I would buy one or two. If anything since he will be a repaint put him in a 2-pack with a new Valkyrie using a re-sculpted Power Princess.
 
I saw the full wave at Walmart today, one of each. I have to say, my gripes with Feral aside, this looks like a great wave overall. I have Rachel and Feral in my POL right now, but I could see myself buying the rest of them........if not for the price hike. I don't think I've bought a ML at this new price yet. I sat there thinking about buying two of them and really, REALLY didn't like the idea of $60 flying out of my wallet. It's a real shame. I ended up with Beast, a great looking figure. But I wouldn't have minded leaving with DD or Surfer or Widow. I just can't do these prices. It's a shame.
 
I'm getting impatient on my orders from Amazon but they just shipped Daredevil and if they want to sprinkle in one every other day for the next week, I really won't be upset, except they'll absolutely ship Rachel last.

(EDIT: Nat is now bumped up to delivery by Weds. They really are gonna send me one at a time. This is mildly entertaining.)

I’m having the same issue. Walking out with one $30 figure doesn’t seem to bother me much, but the thought of walking out with two for $60 makes me very uncomfortable. In some respects, it’s been a blessing in disguise as I need to start downsizing my collection anyway, but I still miss the days when I would walk out of Target or Wal-Mart with two or three bags of figures.
 
Rachel has been my only buy at the new price. She's one of three, maybe five characters I'm comfortable paying that much for. The figures are better than ever, the character selection is actually better than when I was buying more ... but I just can’t do it at these prices, man.
 
Thats why I had to cancel my Werewolf by Night. I just can't be dropping this much on new figures now. And hes enough reuse and less important then some other figures. Before I would've had no qualms. But now its too much. Ill have to wait for a sale. Basically I think I'll end up sticking to mostly XMen for full price, and anything else I really want, like Punisher or Thor characters, but the rest I'll just wait for sales, and if I don't get it, I don't get it. Considering I get SW, Transformers, and GI Joe as well, it adds up fast. Having to make sure I have like $300 every month just for preorders is getting out of hand, especially when that $300 is only like 9 figures. Random stuff I think looks good I can't splurge on anymore.
