I'd be willing to bet they reissue lab coat Beast at the same time they announce 97 Beast and put them on the same buck. Then they get another $80 from everyone.

I have a Daredevil shelf with a kind of costume Evolution going on, so I put him there. And I agree he is too bulky; He has thicker limbs than some Iron Mans. Its going for the same style JRjr has, which is neat and all, but makes him feel odd next to other Legends.I haven’t read Man Without Fear, so I don’t know the origins of this look for Murdock. But I already think he looks too bulky under the sweats. He has a very broad torso, broadened by the butterfly joints and shoulders. This is a strange iteration of his Billy club too, just one club with a rope looped through? Not my favorite of the wave. Where does he even go in a display? Who does he display with?
He doesn't display with anyone. He's a very unique and specific offering. I don't see them making anyone else from that book. Get some thug figures or the Joe cop to beat up. He feels like he was made for D.Amazing and the ACBA scene just to pose up with a horde of tracksuit guys.I haven’t read Man Without Fear, so I don’t know the origins of this look for Murdock. Daredevil was my evergreen when I was reading floppies. If I was down to one book on my pull list, it was Daredevil. Started reading with Bendis' run, backtracked with the Kevin Smith and David Mack runs, followed with Brubaker and the Shadowland era. Last I read was the Mark Waid run, which I didn't finish, but will eventually. I haven't read any of the classic Frank Miller stuff, but am open to recommendations. He doesn't display with anyone. His club is just his guide stick, if I recall. Might be wrong on that. But I do know the loop is there because in the comic when he debuts this look and his leaping around, he has it looped/strapped on his right shoulder so the stick hangs just behind his armpit. And it's cool you can do that.
This origin is....his origin. This is his first go at vigilantism, he doesn't have a thought out theme or costume. Doesn't have the clubs and line. Just sweats and a stick he already owned and he was really pissed off.
You'll note he's also blonde, because that's what they colored in that book. I think he's a great match to JRJR, but I agree he's also scaled wrong to the rest of the line.
I'm happy to have it and it's probably my favourite of the wave after Widow, but there's a huge 80s DD bias to both of those because he's my dude after X-Men.
Miller wrote and drew DD from 168–191, and he did the art only from 158 to 167 with a fill-in issue in there somewhere. This was his classic run, but he then returned for essentially a mini-series within the main title with Born Again, writing issues 227–233 with Mazzucchelli doing the art. I think both are worth reading but 168 to 191 is the place to start.I haven't read any of the classic Frank Miller stuff, but am open to recommendations.
