Mattel MOTU Chronicles Movie Figures

Found the new stuff on Insta.....

Holy shit, dude. Bad. Ass. The Clawful and Mer-Man designs are terrific. Love seeing all the new sculpting and detailing they're putting into these, and the different body shapes.

Also very happy to learn everything I'd heard about Mattel carrying on with non-movie stuff as well as continuing to make more movie stuff, is still true.

Good to see Fisto (presumably a single release), Mekaneck and Goat Man!

Looks like the strategy for none movie figures (at least for now) is to complement the movie line. That armoured He-Man and Teela look really nice, hopefully they show him without the helmet at some point this week. And love the villain redesigns! And Panthor?! Did not see that coming!!

Welp, I finally got around to watching the movie and I caved on the movie version of Tri-Klops, my only holdout til now, just because I wanted one more bad guy. (Agree with Damien that making him a sniper is silly, but I just want to fill in the roster.) I'm using the excuse that I already needed something from the same store for my niece's birthday on Sunday and was like welllllll how about also a little something for me too while I'm at it.

Incredible. These Chronicles figures look fantastic. The Movie stuff and the New Eternia-ish Fuck The Original Looks Let's Try Some New Shit Chronicles stuff too.

Or the NEFTOLLTSNS Chronicles line as I believe they're calling it. Between these and the Origins revamp Mattel just made my whole Comic Con day one preview night.

Clawful looks insane. Merman needs torso armor. Love armored Teela, though I hope she has a portrait option without a helmet. That He-Man with the blue armor has me curious. Also very curious about the Sky Sled, it looks like it could convert to a more traditional look, but the pictures aren’t telling me the full story there. Movie Mekaneck and Goat Man are very welcome.

Is that a Chronicles Goat Man???!
Oh, thanks for this because I just watched it last night and while I have a rough idea of most of those involved through 40 years of cultural osmosis, I had no clue whatsoever who the big red chap with the horns was supposed to be.

Anyway, against all odds, I did enjoy it (Roboto is The Absolute Best, I was invested enough to yell "FUCK YOU" when [thing happens]), Adam was surprisingly charming, and I may have a slight crush on Lyn now.

Guess we can chalk it up to another case of Honour Among Thieves, where it's only after it's died on its arse that non-fans realise it's a lot of fun and welp, shame it won't get a sequel.
