Mattel MOTU Chronicles Movie Figures

I honestly think the CGI was great, not the best but it wasn't a problem as many are saying. The movie had plenty of problems but the CGI wasn't one of them. And the soundtrack is great too, specially the "Eternia" track with the guitars by Brian May. So good!

Saw it tonight and loved it. I was honestly a bit cautious going in, even though I trusted Travis Knight. And it wasn't entirely what I expected, but for the most part I liked that. And the action sequences were great.

From a visual standpoint, Idris Elba embodied the cartoon Man-At-Arms far more than I might have expected.

MILD Spoilers:
The only times I noticed the CG being a little wonky were with Cringer. He just looked a little pasted in occasionally. And the scene of Roboto carrying drunk Drunkan out of the cell Duncan looked pretty odd. But that was it, the rest I thought looked pretty good.
There were a good number of young kids in the theater I saw it at, and they went nuts every time Cringer appeared on screen. Might have been worth cutting out a bit of the CGI in other sequences to give us more Cringer.

That actually makes me really happy to hear :)

Has no one else gone out to see this flick yet? I’m tired of trying not to spoil things!

Actually, I feel like most people active in the thread have seen it now? I was thinking of starting an actual movie spoiler thread for it sometime this weekend, since there seems to be MOTU movie talk across like three different threads at this point.

I'm definitely going to see this movie, but it's one of those that I probably can't justify spending $150 at the movie theater for and will likely wait for streaming for. I've been purposely spending minimal time in the the MOTU section just to avoid spoilers. Since all movies seem to hit streaming within about six weeks now, I'm being a lot picker. I see almost all comic book movies in theaters but think I'm going to break that habit with Supergirl - I just can't make myself feel any urgency on it. I'm sure that I'll see Spidey and Doomsday in the theater this year, but that's probably it. MOTU, Supergirl, Backrooms, Disclosure Day and Dune can likely all wait for streaming for me.

I expect to wait for streaming for Spidey and Doomsday, and avoiding spoilers for those is probably going to be a fucking Herculean task.

I think this is not a good move. You’re just gonna punish yourself by trying to avoid spoilers. That shit will be all over the place, it’s too high profile.
