Oh, wow. I cannot wait!Trailer tomorrow. Meantime:
I kind of look at it as reverse Superman.A lot of it looks cool.
I just . . . really, really, REALLY hate tying any of this to Earth. I hate Marlena being from earth in older continuity as well. It takes the specialness away for me, just another “chosen Earth guy vs aliens” thing. That said: I’ll check this out.
Yup, and if I wanted that, I’d go watch Superman, or John Carter of Mars.I kind of look at it as reverse Superman.
Or John Carter of Mars.
I think there's some really interesting questions here. I don't think you should have humans as parallel evolution with themselves. Which means either humans on Earth came from Eternia, or ALL humans on Eternia originally came from Earth, not just Marlena. And Eternia does have humans.A lot of it looks cool.

That’s my preferred continuity, for sure. No Adam, no Keldor, no “Captain Glenn”.I would dearly love a MOTU movie or cartoon/TV show that's just pulling straight from the early mini-comics.
I think Marlena just did a lot o' fuckin' before settling down with Randor. Lots of cousin siblings.I think there's some really interesting questions here. So did Marlena accidentally crash land on a planet we already crash-landed on millennia before, somehow. Or, Oooooorrrrr.... did Marlena accidentally crash land on.. dun dun dun.... our home planet.
I think my ideal fantasy setting just assumes humans are from whatever fantasy planet we're on and that Earth just straight up doesn't exist. But I don't think that's the only way to do it. The good thing about MOTU is there's so many different versions that have no impact on each other at all. Though, I would dearly love a MOTU movie or cartoon/TV show that's just pulling straight from the early mini-comics.
Yeah. I think they're seeing that this property is still out here actively making money, and it's the exact kind of property that parents enjoy with their kids. So if you can make a movie that's fun for adults and kids, you can grab a whole new generation.I think this more fun, not too serious approach is probably the best way to handle this film at this point. Drawing in kids and new fans, along with hitting that nostalgic sweet spot from the Filmation cartoon for all of us lifelong fans.
Having He-Man on our Earth is of damned near zero interest to me, but I will admit when I paused the trailer I screamed THATS FUCKING BATTLECAT out loud. Like, I barely go to the theater anymore so I'm not the target audience for this, but I will admit to loving seeing a good CGI Battlecat/Cringer. My love for that stupid tiger knows no bounds.I just . . . really, really, REALLY hate tying any of this to Earth. I hate Marlena being from earth in older continuity as well.
