Masters of the Universe: Masterverse

Now I'm going to be massively disappointed if Roboto doesn't launch into a rousing rendition of "Babe" at some point in the film.

I hope Roboto has a feminine voice in this movie just to piss the incels off.

EDIT: I just scrolled back and apparently Roboto IS being played by a woman? I swear I did not know that before posting the above, but I am here for it.
 
I grew up with it and had all the toys. I have a very love-hate relationship with it in modern times, particularly with Mattel and the figures.

So my take is it's cool. It's not perfect and there's a lot that isn't what I would have done, but there's enough core stuff there that I'll be there day one and hoping it succeeds for the betterment of the franchise as a whole.

There was a time we wouldn't even get it this close, so I will take it.

Rose Byrne did the voice for Leatherhead in the newest TMNT, and I wasn't even sure whether that character was supposed to be female or not. I'm putting Kristen Wig in the same category as Nancy Cartwright doing Bart Simpson for years until proven otherwise.

I'll be happier if they heavily modulate Leto's voice or over-dub him entirely to create the best Skeletor possible for the film. The trailer makes me more hopeful, but I'll reserve judgement until I see the final product.

It does make me glad I opted in for that Mondo 1/12 Skeletor now though, as at least HeMan will be out that same summer (tail end of it) as this film.
 
I am SO glad I hadn't cancelled my Mondo figures yet. I may still yet regret that, but hey...I'm making room lately, so fuck it. This movie has me all kinds of excited.

I'm presently trying to talk myself out of Teela, but they always do the female faces so well and she comes with Orko so I may be stuck.

Oddly no Orko in the trailer. I assume if he does show he'll be entirely CGI, would be funny if he was the one thing that was practical effects like 80s Yoda or a Boglin.

Basically an oversized sentient sweatshirt in a gardening hat would work as well.

The funny part is Elba has been fan-cast as MAA for years. He's literally the only one in the movie that fans themselves wanted in that role.
That being said... racists gonna racist.
 
Exactly. Unless the race of the character is integral to the role, I don't give a crap. It's far more important that the actor can play the part to me than what the color of his damned skin is.
