Masters of the Universe: Masterverse

I still have my Zodac preorder but I'm waffling back and forth on whether I will collect this sub-line or not so I'm leaving it's fate up to whether or not Walmart will fill the order or not.
 
I ordered a Zodac this weekend and it's scheduled to show up today. I canceled the original stagnant preorder.
 
Late to the party, but received the new Roboto, King Randor and Beast Man today. Very happy with all three. I felt like a kid again when I realized that Roboto has working gears. Beast Man looks great- love the blue jewel (?) on his belt. Pics don't do it justice. King Randor was a surprise to me. I almost passed on him altogether, as I always associated his look with the Burger King. But, glad I changed my mind. He's a very nice figure, and I'm going to have fun putting his "wig" on random figures from other lines.

So.. unfortunately didnt see the news that Kobra Khan and Hordak were up for preorder at Amazon until today... and of course they aren't any more. I'm hoping it was an early slip and they will be readily available to order in the future.

In the mea time was able to get an order in for a couple of the intage collection Zodak from Wal Mart after they canceled my previous preorders.

Don't worry, it was indeed a slip. They're not officially up anywhere yet, someone just found those preliminary listings however the hell it is that people find those things. There weren't even any images yet. Same thing happened with the current wave.
 
That Kobra Khan Wave is beautiful. All 3 figures look fantastic! Teela, Hordak, and Kobra Khan all New Eternia style. I'd say they will actually go up for pre order next month or early June.

I really hope since we are finally getting Masterverse Snake Men that Tung Lashor and Rattlor in New Eternia style aren't far behind.
 
I caved on waiting on my Zodac preorder and just ordered him in stock to see if that gets the ball moving. Wouldn't be the first time Walmart just forgot to ship a bevy of preorders while selling the figure in stock in stores. Gawd I hate Walmart preorders. They're not as bad as they were back in the old days, but still a hot mess.

Unrelated, very weird Masterverse victory - I was losing my mind thinking I'd actually got Battle Armor Skeletor but could not find him and was wondering if I hallucinated actually buying him, but he'd actually meandered onto a Mythic Legions shelf. Glad I didn't go nuts trying to find one from a third-party seller.
 
Yeah, that Battle Armor Skeletor has really become costly on the secondhand market for something so recent. I'd always meant to get a second one, but no way am I doing that now lol.

I'm so glad you found yours. Just saved yourself some good money.
 
Thanks. I was losing my mind cos I was sure he was one of those figures I wanted enough to preorder and I'm usually neurotic about knowing where all my figures are.

I definitely missed New Adventures Skeletor and am kicking myself for that, but that was me trying to have a little restraint and now it feels like a gap in my Skele-collection.

I didn’t see that King Venom shot when you originally posted. That crown is gonna get a ton of mileage.

If they’re gonna keep making Beast Men that can pass as generics, they gotta make that Beast Woman they teased on the packaging art of one of the other figures. I really want females of Avion as well, and some Royal Guards of both genders.
 
Of course I order a new Zodac in stock and he'll be here tomorrow while the preorder tarries. It's fine, I got him, but every time that works it's funny to me. (As long as it works, otherwise not funny.)

I really love King Randor. Maybe it's because I just read Lev Grossman's Bright Sword but I'm just really digging the aging king who looks great with a sword.
 
Oh, Walmart. Zodac arrived 36 hours after buying him in-stock and the preorder had no movement. Just canceled the PO. But anyway, I love this figure - the "glass" on his eyes/helmet is really neat, and I love that they were so true to the original design. Always begs the question: why does Zodac have webbed duck feet? Why is he vaguely furry? What do those fins on his arms do? But he's still one of my two favorite MOTU chraracters. Him and Stratos forever.

Well that's easy. The webbed feet and the arm fins help make up for the drag all that body hair causes while swimming.
 
Naw but seriously:
Zodac was originally conceived an Evil Warrior, so he got the “demon feet” and hairy body. Stratos, incidentally, was also originally an Evil Warrior as well, don’t know if that influenced his hairiness but I don’t think ANY heroic warrior ever had body hair which is . . . kinda weird, actually.
