Masters of the Universe: Masterverse

What? How can you hate Rio Blast? It's just a He-Man Bravestarr figure, but better. He has a gun in his chest! At least he has SOMETHING in his chest, you heartless bastards.

Also, his name is Rio Blast. Rio traditionally translates to "river" making his name River Blast. Which is what happened in my pants as a child when I saw a cowboy MOTU figure that had a canon pop out of his chest.

Like y'all wouldn't be salivating for a New Eternia Rio Blast! I mean, if nothing else, don't tell me you wouldn't be at least curious about what he looks like. Meanwhile we're talking about Wundar who is just He-Man with Zodac's vest but somehow he's better than a fast-draw cowboy doing his best to keep up with MOTU freaks?

I just don’t think cowboys had the same impact on me as they seemed to on other kids. Like I liked Zorro and the Lone Ranger, but I didn’t need cowboys in everything, and even as a little little kid John Wayne gave me maximum ick. And MotU was all about monsters and sorcery for me, so a cyborg cowboy is kinda two steps out from what I love about MotU (says the guy whose favorite Evil Warrior is Trap-Jaw 🤷‍♂️).

John Wayne is pretty ick. The best cowboy is Richard Boone as Paladin in "Have Gun - Will Travel". Check it out!

and that's all fair points. I feel that way about my display. Figures like Rio Blast and Dragstor are things I say I like but actually don't buy because it doesn't fit in with the medieval fantasy theme.

And I'm a hypocrite too because my favorite Masterverse of the year is the goofy cyber Terror Claw Skeletor, he doesn't fit in, but he gets to stay anyway.

And for me it's basically all the wacky sci-fi stuff and creatures that I like about MotU. I'm not really a big medieval fantasy guy, but I am an overgrown monster kid.

So, no BraveStarr or Moo Mesa for you?

The best cowboy is Richard Boone as Paladin in "Have Gun - Will Travel" Val Kilmer as Doc Holiday in "Tombstone". Check it out!
Fixed it for you

The monsters were always where it was at with MOTU.

I had to look up Rio Blast. He must have been released much later in the line, as I wasn't familiar with him at all. Doesn't do much for me, and he really seems to be an odd addition. Unless he was just a really stellar updated design, I'd likely skip any Masterverse iteration.
