Marvel Legends Maximum Series

I lucked out and got him on Best Buy for $10 cheaper before they price-corrected, so I'll keep my pre-order and hope he's worth it. I still thing the least they should have done for the legs is replace the cut-pants overlays on the lower legs to make that area look new and different.

Thanks. Preternia was saying Amazon had him back for $59.99 which I think he said was a lower price so I threw in a preorder but then the next day he was up to $84.99 sold by Amazon but now he is back to $59.99. It looks like I'm not actually getting a deal so I think I'm canceling.

Zero percent excited for this figure and very curious how long before we start hearing about the torso overlay starting to deteriorate or warp.

Whoever made the call to have this be the second release of an already controversial sub line... bravo.

but I don't know that I'd leave him in a thunder-clap pose indefinitely,
That's the issue, though. This figure feels like the first foray into Legends making figures purpose-built to appeal to action figure photographers (or, perhaps, to their own photographers to try to get more sales based on how cool it looks online?). The whole reason this figure exists in this format is so he can do a pose that you absolutely should not leave him doing on your shelf unless you only want him to do that pose forever and ever. So... why buy this over any other Hulk beyond the ability to just do the pose one time and say 'that's cool' and then put it on the shelf in a regular pose that won't damage it. What's even the point?

The reality is that a lot of our toys are unlikely to be passed down to our grandkids, that's for sure.
There are certain pieces in my vintage GI Joe collection that have crumbled apart in my hands from just light handling.

They're all going to fall apart sometime.

I honestly think this is Hasbro testing how far the core audience is in their pocket. "Are we to the point where we can label something as a premium line, charge a premium price, but still get away with 90% reuse? Let's find out".

Yeah. I mean, I've bought sealed '90s toys, opened them up, and already found yellowing, degradation, that gross 'slimy' feel of old plastic, etc. Now, I want to clarify that I'm not saying it's okay for new toys to immediately fall apart of be made of materials we KNOW won't last very long. But also we have to accept toys are still essentially designed to be played with and eventually disposed of when they break or get too old. If people want lifetime longevity, they do need to be considering things like statues and art prints.

We've touched on this already, but I'm still puzzled by the line as a whole. They're supposed to be maximum figures, presumably to compete with MAFEX, but the second figure in the line has significant re-use and visible pins. They should've released Hulk as a Fan Channel exclusive instead of diluting the Maximum brand out of the gate.

I’m surprised they haven’t shown the third Max figure for the year to distract us from the Hulk.

Now that Maximum Hulk is starting to hit everywhere, it won't surprise me if they announce Maximum Deadpool during their livestream next week. It's honestly difficult for me to imagine them doing a whole lot more than what they did in the Deadpool/HydraBob 2-pack. They could probably add toe articulation and slightly better waist and neck articulation similar to Max Spidey, but probably couldn't expand other accessories too much more.

I know that they did definitely say that there would be 3 (and only 3) Maximum figures released during calendar year 2025 multiple times. So, it seems kind of early to be wrapping them up already. I'm pretty sure that Deadpool was already leaked to be the third for the year (assuming the leak is accurate).
