Yeah, I'd said earlier that everytime I see it, I want to change the tint on my monitor. Ugh.That Captain America figure fucks with my eyes every time I look at it. It really looks like an old, sun-bleached figure and I hate it.
What was the half-life on Overwatch? I'd expect around the same. Like all asymmetrical PvP games balancing will continue to be an increasingly problematic moving target until it becomes so much that they just relaunch it in a sequel.I think there will be... an overadbundance of Rivals figures over the next year, at least.
I wonder what the shelf life is for the game. My buddies still love it - but theres now way it's this popular same time next year... is there?
TBF, it at least seems like Overwatch 2 is a pale shadow of what OW was in the heyday. Definitely feels liek its figure prospects have fallen off. I feel like Rivals will probably get a solid half decade before it sops being popular enough for figures to be worthwhile. Apex Legends, it got what, 2 waves of figures?Overwatch has lasted about 6 years, with Overwatch 2 basically just being the same game and having 3 years so far.
I think Overwatch as an IP was a lot stronger than Overwatch the game. Especially considering the mainline game basically had nothing to do with the lore of the IP. Random battles PvP when the lore they built was a lot more GI Joe but with superheroes.Speaking of Overwatch, I still believe that Hasbro went HARD on that line of figures and it's a shame the line died off, because those toys were good enough to outshine the game. I hated the game but loved the figures. I wish they were a little bigger to scale better with Legends etc., but they didn't skimp on details (though the repaints got excessive and often did that silly "alt skin first, the one you really want second" thing Hasbro loves to do.)
