Marvel Legends Gamerverse

That Captain America figure fucks with my eyes every time I look at it. It really looks like an old, sun-bleached figure and I hate it.
Yeah, I'd said earlier that everytime I see it, I want to change the tint on my monitor. Ugh.

Oh, and @Enforcer, I couldn't care less about getting any of these. But for those that want one or some of them, cool. To each their own.

Yes.... yes! Of course! Of course.... of course.

I do hope this is a hit and maybe the Player 2 variants sell independent of this overpriced branding initiative. Not even sure I'd get them then, but it'd be nice to have the option.

Fortunately I can't think of any Player 2 / Alt color scheme Capcom Marvel characters I need, and I've decided to waste more money on Mondo stuff, so that's equally as fortunate/unfortunate.

I think there will be... an overadbundance of Rivals figures over the next year, at least.

I wonder what the shelf life is for the game. My buddies still love it - but theres now way it's this popular same time next year... is there?

What was the half-life on Overwatch? I'd expect around the same. Like all asymmetrical PvP games balancing will continue to be an increasingly problematic moving target until it becomes so much that they just relaunch it in a sequel.

Blizzard missed the boat by not leveraging the Overwatch IP before they squandered all the love that game had for a bit there. I think there was probably the opportunity for a new animated action movie or TV series there, and now? Nope.

Passing on so many Jada SF alt colors has mentally and emotionally prepared me for passing on these ML repaints that I like very much. I am Ryu, disciplined, able to resist spending $65+tax on a Marvel Legend. Now, if you will excuse me, I must meditate until the drop has passed.

Overwatch has lasted about 6 years, with Overwatch 2 basically just being the same game and having 3 years so far. 5 years so far for Apex Legends and Valorant, 16 for League, 18 for TF2.

These class-based team PVP games have pretty solid lifespans, and judging by the amount of content they're pumping out for Rivals (and the fact that it's just the defacto versions I see of Marvel characters daily), I would say it's here to stay for a while. I doubt we'll get a LOT of figures given every design and skin would need to be a unique mold, but we'll certainly get some of the more popular characters.

TBF, it at least seems like Overwatch 2 is a pale shadow of what OW was in the heyday. Definitely feels liek its figure prospects have fallen off. I feel like Rivals will probably get a solid half decade before it sops being popular enough for figures to be worthwhile. Apex Legends, it got what, 2 waves of figures?

I do wonder if we'll be getting some from the new Marvel beat-em-up though. Lot of classic characters in there that we've got, but some we haven't seen yet.

edit: OMG I just realized Cosmic Invasion has Beta Ray Bill.

Speaking of Overwatch, I still believe that Hasbro went HARD on that line of figures and it's a shame the line died off, because those toys were good enough to outshine the game. I hated the game but loved the figures. I wish they were a little bigger to scale better with Legends etc., but they didn't skimp on details (though the repaints got excessive and often did that silly "alt skin first, the one you really want second" thing Hasbro loves to do.)

I think Overwatch as an IP was a lot stronger than Overwatch the game. Especially considering the mainline game basically had nothing to do with the lore of the IP. Random battles PvP when the lore they built was a lot more GI Joe but with superheroes.
