I'm so envious of all y'all having your Shuma/Gargantos in hand already. In stark contrast to all these availability dates of the 2-packs and ML waves being bumped forward, my order for S/G from Deep Discount inexplicably keeps getting pushed back. They originally listed him with an expected ship date in September, and then proceeded to push the date back a couple weeks every few weeks or so. Most recently, that sexy green cycloptic mf was supposed to ship on November 14th and when I checked this morning, the date has now been pushed to the 21st. Ugh .
It's been a real roller-coaster of anticipation-and-resignation here at the Zoo.

This panel always looks like a great basis for an all-X, all Madureira style wave to my eyes, but it also made me think as I realise this costume for Storm was a look she had in one of the Mutant Academy/Next Dimension fighter games and qualifies for being a Gamerverse entry in a wave, it also makes a good case for specific entries in a Deluxe or Maximum slot if the theme for the figures is focus on the powers and effects.

Iceman and Cannonball could be bulked out with modular poseable power effect display bases as well the obvious swappable parts for them respectively, and Storm could feature this costume and hairstyle while also having assorted cloud/lightning/tornado power effects for hers.

With Cannonball’s costume design in particular, there’d be scope for experimenting with using the Gamerverse Wolverine torso articulation scheme on a fairly smooth generic body blank and then having his straps and pouches as overlay pieces, a good basis on which to introduce the articulation change-up that can then be reused readily.

I'd probably be fine with Cannonball just on the Vulcan body. He's supposed to be a lanky character, though he bulked up into a more generic muscular body type in later years, similar to Iceman etc. But I definitely think there are more than a few Onslaught looks worth experimenting with.

Having that Gamerverse Wolverine style of torso articulation would make for arguably better Spiderman, Nightcrawler, Beast, possibly Gambit and other more acrobatic characters. Obviously without the heft of the Wolverine bodytype used, but the torso articulation customized to fit other body types.
 
With Cannonball teased on Emma's Target cardback, which version of him do we think is getting teased? And if Cypher is in the same wave, aren't their New Mutants costumes similar? So maybe this Sam will be the blue/gold! :)
 
I’m really hoping it’s a basic male New Mutants training costume like Sunspot that comes packed with both heads. I realize that Sam should be taller and lankier than Doug, but it’ll be what it is, and I’ll be there for it.

Yes, I hope they make Sam tall and lanky. I would just pop rhe Doug head on the extra Sunspot body I already bought for a similar purpose. They could probably just reuse the Franklin Richards head from the 2-pack... thats what I was planning to do.

This definitely feels like the most likely option. In fact pretty sure this exact thing was on a leak list at some point.

It's most likely the New Mutants judging from that flat top. His blue/gold was usually parted down the middle so he looked more like a younger/blonder Madureira Gambit most of the time then. That face is pretty significantly New Mutants related.
 
The Cap/Venom set arrived today. Cap really is a damn good figure, despite the tiny shield. Happy to have him. Venom does look nice, I just wasn't clamoring for a blue one. Def. worth the sale price I got it at.
