Marvel Legends Gamerverse

Kith really came out of nowhere, it seems. i'd never heard of them before, but then I started seeing a ton of ads for them around here in NY. Far as I can tell, it's a clothing store that also apparently has a giant cereal soft serve thing inside it? I can't take the name seriously; all I can hear is Mike Tyson saying "Gimme a Kith"

But yeah....those figs ain't for me. Happy for whoever digs 'em, but Imma pass.

I do want that Wolverine colorway.

That said: nothing turns me off faster than some corporate entity scribbling its name on things. Absolutely vile and disgusting. Also I have never heard of this “kith” thing, and this display makes me want to avoid them.

Yuck, man.

I will enjoy watching people who want a KITH branded Mega Man melt down on social media and complain about secondary market prices for a product arguably tailor made to drive up a secondary market. Twitter is chucking me tweets from the KITH owner this morning randomly and he's saying things like "This is going to be the hottest collab ever" and... y'know... I'm sure there are people who are buying that. This feels like something Dan probably championed very hard for.

I have no interest in the Player 2 colors on Jada Street Fighter releases. If this was a solo release I'd consider the Legends PURELY because I am a completest (which is not technically accurate now given the massive culling), but I put it in the same category as recent Unlimited Legends... these are one-off or non canon appearances that I'm totally OK with not having in my collection. The colors here aren't comic accurate. But even if the completest bug got me, I have zero desire for Street Fighter characters with KITH branding. It's... especially with Mega Man... so stupid. And I think all 4 are being sold together.

lol the Mega Man figure has the Kith logo stamped on his chest plate fucking get me out of this town and send me to a place with no internet access please. I’m so tired of seeing blatantly stupid shit like this. What the fuck is an action figure of an android doing hyping a clothing store for??!! Neither mega man action figures or the characters featured in this franchise even bother to wear actual clothing!!! They are literal robots that were constructed in a lab for combat.

I think his chest is painted darker blue so it kinda looks like he's wearing a tummy top.

So I think, predominantly, most on the forum think this is just really, really stupid. However, there is an entire subset of the collector community (I see them on Instagram) that could NOT be happier with this. One guy I follow for Legends is one of them, and describes the fan base as 'Hype Beast World' - as opposed to 'Collector World.' I don't know what a Hype Beast is... but... I think I have some idea.

And here I was, talking about how I wanted Green Cap from MVC2 just the other day. But also saying I'm done with MLs with waist swivels. So I guess I'll let price determine this one. Same with Wolverine, if he doesn't have some KITH logo I might pick him up. Although I'm kind of assuming these have some stupid MSRP like 2x normal price.

EDIT: They really put KITH on Wolverine's claw effects? lol. I wonder where they hid the word "KITH" on cap that I'm not seeing.

This seems like a good Wiki primer on what... exactly this is:

Hypebeast culture is often associated with logo-heavy clothing and the practice of purchasing multiple designer items to display wealth and trend awareness. It is closely connected to sneaker collecting and resale markets, where limited release shoes are bought for the purpose of reselling at higher prices. This practice has been criticized for prioritizing financial gain and prestige over cultural or stylistic significance.

Ok walking back the 4 being sold together comment. I saw some packaging render that seemed to show 4 boxes combined, but it could be for shoes. So that part is not definite.
