Marvel Cinematic Universe Movies and Streaming Series Discussion

The decision to end the Black Widow film with choosing to connect the narrative dots with her getting the Quinjet instead of the sequence with the kids playing hero exemplifies choosing story over character to me and I feel like they have made similar choices since then
I never saw the point of that. I just assumed they were using the one Steve and Bucky took in Civil War. Didn't need that cleared up.

If I see one more Marvel movie taking an interesting look at grief, I'll flip a desk.
I guess I haven't noticed that pattern? But suppose it is there.

I'll clarify, I think of Thor as the most "operatic" of the Marvel heroes, given the myths and how we was written by Stan at the start as vaguely Shakespearean and so on. Of all the characters, going the more serious route would have made sense to me - especially for Ragnarök and Love and Thunder. I don't mean wallow in grief, but both the villain and the hero in L&T deal with major losses, yet that combines to form a happy ending and a future.

@fac, yeah, I think the worst thing to happen to the Thor franchise was the discovery that Chris Hemsworth was funny.

Remind me, is there something in Strange's Eye of Agamotto, or is it just a fashion choice?

I know this is kind of random, but I'm going to throw it out there anyway. I miss the Stan Lee cameos.

It was fun when he'd pop up in the movies. That's what was great about Stan the Man. He always brought the mirth.

And I would not want to see AI Stan in a movie, or anywhere else, ever. He's gone now and yes that hurts, but we were lucky we had him for the time that we did and we should just be thankful for that.

In my mind, it's gotta be the real deal or no deal.

Thank you for everything, Mr. Lieber. I think I'll go re-read "Bedlam at the Baxter Building" again. That was a great one.

For the record, my favorite Stan cameo was in Captain Marvel where he definitely appeared as himself, followed very closely by the casting choice of making him Willie Lumpkin in the Tim Story Fantastic Four movie.

I'm not opposed to creator cameos with characters they're associated with, like maybe Chris Claremont in the X-Men, but I doubt I'd recognize any of them.
