Marvel Cinematic Universe Movies and Streaming Series Discussion

Yeah, in any case, Hollywood is gradually getting the current "it" actors into their superhero franchise rolls. Pedro Pascal is checked off the list, same with Sadie Sink. I think all that's left now is Alan Richson, Glen Powell, and Sydney Sweeny. Sweeny as anyone besides Power Girl is a miscast. Richson as Batman is interesting, I like him but I'm not sure he has the range. Powell I don't know......I hear he really wants to do Captain Planet.....
Alan Ritchson has already played Aquaman on Smallville and Hawk on Titans. And Sydney was Spider-Woman.

Only Glen remains immune since he's now The Running Man.

Yes but those are either long past or failed projects. There's plenty of examples of actors playing multiple super hero rolls.

I mean isn't Jessica Drew the more interesting character to have in the comics. Constantly shat on orphan, stumbles her way thru life, woman from a tough upbringing making good. Both hyper competent and incompetent at the same time. Always liked the character.

Probably, but I remember when Carpenter showed up in the comics so she is kinda the spider woman I remember.

Watched the first two episodes of Eyes of Wakanda. Not particularly enthused just yet. A little too serious and violent - wasn't expecting that to be honest so may not have been in the right mood.

I'll just add that Memnon now being from Wakanda and Achilles best friend is a choice.

I thought the 2nd 2 episodes were much better than the 1st 2. 1st 2 weren't good IMO. Not a fan of the over stylized nature in terms of character design (particularly the women--all but 2 female characters looked like creepy aliens) and action. What's the point of setting your story in a superhero universe when all the unpowered humans seem to have supernatural physical abilities. Otherwise the lighting and design was lovely, if unremarkable by today's standards. Stories were, ok. Overall it killed time I had waiting for people to wake, but I wouldn't really care if it didn't get another season.

It's been a while since we just listed upcoming releases. It seeeeeems like the next X-Men movie, with Jake Shreier directing, may be scheduled for 12/15/28. In the meantime though:
Vision Quest (8 episodes) - sometime in 2026 (finished filming)
Daredevil Born Again - Season 2 - Spring 2026
Untitled Punisher Special - sometime in 2026 (filming now)
Spider-Man - Brand New Day 7/31/26 (filming now)
Avengers - Doomsday 12/18/26 (filming now)
Avengers - Secret Wars 12/17/27

That's all we know for certain. Armor Wars and Blade were announced but are now stagnant, Shang-Chi 2 and Doctor Strange 3 are both heavily rumored and could be in pre-production, or maybe shelved because Marvel is focusing more on 'quality over quantity'. Young Avengers/Champions, Nova, and Strange Academy are all projects that were rumored and may or may not be happening. Some, maybe, never were.

Looks good, bro! Except you left out Wonder Man. Everyone seems to forget about that. It doesn't help that Marvel Studios didn't have a panel at SDCC this year. As with Ironheart, Disney has done very little to promote this show and that's a shame. It might be really good.

Here's what I have:

Phase Six

67. Fantastic Four: First Steps - July 25th, 2025
68. Wonder Man - December, 2025
69. Daredevil Born Again Season Two - March, 2026
70. Spider-Man: Brand New Day - July 31st, 2026
71. Untitled Disney Film - November 6th, 2026
72. Avengers: Doomsday - December 18th, 2026
73. Untitled Marvel Film - July 23rd, 2027
73. Untitled Disney Film - November 5th, 2027
74. Avengers: Secret Wars - December 17th, 2027

Phase Seven (?)

75. Untitled Marvel Studios Film - February 18th, 2028
76. Untitled Marvel Studios Film - May 5th, 2028
77. Untitled Marvel Studios Film - November 10th, 2028
78. Untitled Marvel Studios Film - December 15th, 2028

WHAT WE KNOW IS COMING (we just don't know exactly when) :

The Punisher Special
Vision
Blade
Shang Chi 2
Doctor Strange 3
Black Panther 3
The X-Men
Armor Wars

It's anybody's guess what the untitled movie between Doomsday and Secret Wars is. The likeliest suspects are Shang-Chi 2, Doctor Strange 3 or Black Panther 3. On the streaming side of things, Vision and Punisher will probably both have firm release dates soon.

There's no D23 this year, correct? I don't know when Marvel will make a public presentation again. SDCC 2026 seems like a long ways off.

Thank you for keeping track of all that. I didn't really forget Wonderman, but was just skipping to next year for some reason.

Part of me is hoping those untitled dates are things they're REALLY keeping secret and they surprise us for once. Yes I love knowing what to expect and being able to plan and all that, but if they just threw out a trailer a few months before a release for a movie we didn't even know was coming? That would be awesome and kinda groundbreaking in this era.

It's a shame that Spider-Man actually swinging in New York was filmed on such a gray, hazy day. In London.

No shade to London - my favorite city in the world. But maybe, just maybe do this bit in NYC?

That's a really cool set-up, though - given this movie's production timeframe I truly expected every shot of Spidey to be fake. Nice to see them continuing to try new things.
