Marvel Cinematic Universe Movies and Streaming Series Discussion

If Matt is in this movie, even just a little, and has a scene with Peter and Frank... I'll need new pants.

Depends how they play it. The difference between the generally lighthearted Spidey and overly dour Punisher can certainly set up some fun jokes. If he is in it at all, it could also just be a quick cameo of him trying to recruit Spidey for Daredevil's team. I'm kinda torn- a Spunisher team-up would be awesome, but there's that part of me that still wants Holland Spidey to get his own movie where he doesn't share billing with another big star/character. I guess we'll just have to wait and see; as long as they finally include Scorpion somehow, I'll be happy.

Bernthal Punisher in a Spider-Man movie has me almost excited as the first time we learned Punisher was going to be in the Daredevil show. Best MCU news of the year.

That reminds me I really want a Rio Vidal Death figure to go with my MCU Thanos.

I have no big expectations for tomorrow's Ironheart but it looks fun. Kinda excited for it.

Punisher is a character I generally dislike and try to avoid given his vigilantism gets turned into being a "hero" role too often, which bugs me.

Very curious where this goes, I hope it isn't a "misunderstanding" between Spidey and the Punisher that works itself out, but Spidey actively is against him. And also becomes disappointed in his lawyer Matt as well, if he is in this, for his tendency to cross barriers. At the same time both Punisher and DD frustrated that someone like Spidey holds back given what he could do that they can't. One of the best things Frank Miller did was when he set Supes and Bats at odds over Batman being in effect jealous that Supes wasn't "fixing" everything as Bruce would if he had Superman's power - I want that dynamic in this film, maybe this will be the temptation of Peter Parker to go too street level at first...? That might be wishful thinking as I think they need to reign Matt in a bit to be more heroic at times.

Nice to see Ironheart finally getting a little love. I'm eager to check it out. I always go in with low expectations and wanting to like something, and I usually at least do just that.

All the people expecting Shakespeare in their genre entertainment are pretty deluded. Things can be fun and engaging without shaking the Terra firma. The things they think do that rarely do either
