Marvel Cinematic Universe Movies and Streaming Series Discussion

Hell yeah. I know not everyone likes the characters but I enjoy them and I knew they'd be back eventually. I'd prefer not hand waving the NWH ending away, make it make sense and make it work but still

Ned is wearing an MIT sweat shirt which is interesting. Will we ever see him become the Hobgoblin?

Zendaya has her hair covered. The internet sleuths are convinced she dyed it red and will be a full on Mary Jane Watson.

The internet sleuths aren't always right, though.

Of course it's possible that she did dye her hair, but also knowing the MCU, if they did go that route, part of me thinks they'd just CGI her hair to be red in post. 😅

Still not sure if I want Ned to be the Hobgoblin. I do wanna see ol' Hobby in live action some day, but I don't know if I want/need it to be Ned. Would be interesting to see Peter fighting a friend, but at this point, it may feel like a bit too much of a retread of New Goblin in SM3, just with (I'd assume) different motives.

Sigh. The last thing I want is for poor Ned to be squashed into a Hobgoblin situation just because a character in the comics has a name somewhat similar to his and was framed as the Hobgoblin one time.

MCU Ned Lee =\= comics Ned Leeds.
And Ned Leeds was NOT the Hobgoblin.

Yes, I absolutely want Hobgoblin on the screen. He has always been my favorite Spider-Man villain by far, which probably tells you the period where I was most into Spider-Man comics. I never liked the Leeds reveal though, even before learning that wasn't their original intent. But yeah, already having two Peters have their best friend (well...ASM it was a lost friend returned I guess) turn on them as goblins makes me feel they should absolutely NOT have Ned go there. Basically, too many reasons to have it be someone other than his best friend, Ned. I'd be fine with Ned becoming somebody, just not Hobby. If I were writing it, I would definitely play into suspicion is was Ned, as well as Flash Thompson. I'd even introduce Kingsley and spend a little time throwing suspicion at him, but ultimately I would have it be someone not a suspect in the comics to have some semblance of a surprise. They teased in NWH that Ned doesn't want to turn on his friend, and honestly... I would prefer the MCU Ned remain a sweetheart for the rest of his time on screen. I don't need dark and edgy Ned.

Great points. Also, Ned was unmasked as the Hobgoblin by someone who took over as writer and decided Ned (who was dead) fit all the clues. Wasn't it Peter David?

People ask me "Hey! When do you think we'll see trailers for Brand New Day and Doomsday?"

Well, probably not for a helluva long time because they don't come out until the second half of next year.

But, if I absolutely HAD to guess ...

I would guess that we'll get a brief teaser for Brand New Day attached to Avatar 3 when that's released in theaters on December 19th. A brief teaser, not a full trailer. I think we'll get a full Brand New Day trailer during the 2026 Super Bowl in February, and then maybe one more in late May or early June. And then at last in late July we'll see the damn movie.

As for Doomsday, a brief tease during the 2026 Super Bowl if we're lucky. For sure a full trailer attached to Brand New Day. If Disney has any movies coming out in October or November next year then we might get another full Doomsday trailer.

Sheer speculation on my part.

That is how I hope Doom speaks in the movie. Economically yet devastating.

I definitely agree about Superbowl. I won't be surprised if there's hardly any trailers during the game since that trend seems to be dying down, but maybe around that time of year at least.
