Marvel Cinematic Universe Movies and Streaming Series Discussion

I could see She Hulk working well with Peter, but I don't know if Sony would want to deal with so much CG for a guest character. Eh, I guess Iron Man was probably CG for half his scenes.

No. No she-hulk with Spidey. No more she-hulk at all for all I care. That she-hulk series was complete ass.

Spidey guest star that is really needed is the Human Torch.
Funny, I was just thinking about this story last night:

But as cool as that would be, that would almost regulate Spidey to be a guest star in his own movie, almost like Cap was in Civil War. Let's face it, Civil War was not Captain America 3, it was Avengers 3. It was a great movie and I loved it, but Cap almost got lost in the shuffle.

Yes, a good ol' fashioned Spider-Man and Torch team up sounds like great fun.

And it would be great if Sam Raimi directed it. He gets classic Spider-Man.

I know he has plenty of fans and obviously his movies did very well, but I haven't enjoyed his style for any superhero movies.

That show was so poorly written. The CGI, the acting, I don't even need to get into. But to each their own.

I'd really enjoy Daredevil with Spidey. Punisher & Moon Knight would also be welcome.

Ah yeah, Punisher makes a lot of sense. I didn't even really think that much about him, despite him being on one of the covers I posted last night.

Eh, I can see how the CG wasn't film quality, but I can't remember ever having any issues with the acting nor the writing. I guess the Bruce bits were kinda clunky but mostly it was just a fun show and I appreciated it didn't take itself seriously. And bonus Matt!!!

I guess I don’t mind a guest star on Spidey’s “level” like Daredevil, as long as they don’t make him “mentor” Spidey or whatever.

I don't think Daredevil has the time or patience to mentor anyone. With him, you either keep up or get lost. I think Peter and Matt would make a great team once they got used to each other.

Well, you're in luck because Raimi won't be directing Brand New Day. Destin Daniel Cretton is. At least, that's the plan right now. But as we've seen, plans change.

Speaking of which, this movie is supposed to come out on July 31st, 2026. That's what, 14 months away? They better get on the stick with it or it's going to get delayed just like Doomsday and Secret Wars.

Punisher made his first appearance in the pages of Amazing Spider-Man.

I'm astonished Sony didn't claim the rights.

Or maybe they did and they're just letting Marvel use him for Television and not the movies.

This whole stupid "rights" thing makes me, baby Jesus and The Great Gazoo want to cry.

Go away, Sony. Just ... go away.

The first Punisher film with Lundgren was 1989, well before the Sony deal and Raimi films, so maybe the Punished was carved out as a pre-existing license on its own prior to the Sony contract? Just speculation.

DEFINITELY. That's why he's perfect for this. Even if Peter attempts to put him in that role, Matt will reject it. IF Sony tries to do a pre-fully formed, not totally confident hero with Peter, Matt is the character to push him the rest of the way.

Ah yes, that is doubly good for me.

To be clear, I'm not trying to spit on anyone who likes him. I am a massive Evil Dead fan, and still have a horrible bootleg compilation of some of his old shorts with Campbell. I just .... those Spider-Man movies were not for me. I totally get why people love them, even without growing up on them.
But as we've seen, plans change.
Definitely. Tomorrow we could get a huge update on Brand New Day.

I feel like the Punisher rights were separated from the Spider-characters since they've done three movies about him over the years. I don't full know about rights either really, as much as I like to pretend to.

Deadline has a little more on the Avengers delays:

"Insiders noted that these two films are among the biggest ever made, and the delays simply allow more time to execute on a gargantuan vision. Disney/Marvel elected for December dates, given the success they’ve had in the holiday corridor with titles like Spider-Man: No Way Home. Avengers: Doomsday is in production now."

yes! Aha, I'm thinking the same.

Well, hold on there, don't bury the lede! Devil Wears Prada 2?!?!?

Damnit... I'm totally kidding, but apologies to anyone genuinely excited for it. I admit I've never seen the original.

My contrarian/jerky hipster/willfully ignorant comment was always "eh, I don't even see how the third one is any worse than the first."

With Daredevil, if he appears in Brand New Day, he could and should be the first MCU guest star who is a full ally rather than a secondary antagonist.
