Marvel Cinematic Universe Movies and Streaming Series Discussion

Out of those I only watched Loki season 2 but I definitely wasn't excited for it. I wasn't a big fan of season 1.

No, he's right. Not about the looking forward to She-Hulk, but that the last show I looked forward to was maybe Hawkeye, if we're not counting Werewolf by Night.

Now, I was surprised that I enjoyed Agatha as much as I did and, since I really (really) liked WandaVision, I'm hoping VisionQuest can continue the trend and make that whole Wanda and Vision corner of Disney+ absolute winners.

I wonder if it'll do episodic themes like WV and AAA. I don't even know what the premise is so can't begin to guess what the themes might be, but it'd be a shame not to continue the identity brand.
 
I can't even remember the last show I looked forward to, Daredevil? Maybe Moon Knight?

I'm just passing on a lot of this stuff now. Marvel can wake me when they're serious.
 
That's me. I'm just not compelled to watch and I used to be the person who looked forward to and watched every MCU show as soon as it came out. Now I just put it off and tell myself I'll get around to it someday.
 
I've certainly slowed on my Marvel watching a bit. Still haven't finished Daredevil, or gotten around to Echo, What If s3, or Friendly Neighborhood Spiderman. Other than maybe Daredevil, I keep forgetting those shows exist, just like I keep forgetting about Ironheart and VisionQuest. I like Vision well enough, but he's always felt like he's more interesting in the context of someone else, if that makes sense. Alongside Wanda, or as a vehicle/foil for Tony or Ultron. Not sure how I'll feel with him as the lead of a show, but I suppose it depends what they do with it. I did love Agatha, and Loki was alright, even if it would've worked better for me as a movie. Since Marvel is supposedly moving into the projects that happened after they took a step back and re-prioritized things, I'm eager to see how the quality feels moving forward.

The Jocasta news is cool, though. Don't know a thing about the character, but I love those Mike Flanagan shows, and she was great in them.

This was my reaction, but going all the way back to Age of Ultron. I saw it at the El Capitan in Hollywood, hell even Joss Whedon showed up to introduce it (and this was before I knew he was a disgusting piece of shit human, so I was hyped), and then . . . well . . . they played the movie.

Yikes on bikes.

Many of my favorite MCU projects came out post-AoU, but that was my turning point for realizing that this universe wasn’t ever going to be “my thing”, so I just stopped emotionally investing in the big picture. It didn’t stop me from becoming increasingly angry at MCU Iron Man as he descended further and further into unlikeable fascist narcissistic douchebag territory though.
Nowadays I just don’t feel that pressure to see this stuff immediately, and many things I can just skip and revisit later when I’m feeling it, not even because I don’t think I’ll like them but just because I honestly stopped caring about overarching plot of the MCU so it simply doesn’t matter to me anymore if I get spoilers or whatever. In fact now I kinda WANT spoilers so I’m prepared for things that will annoy me ahead of time and can make peace with them before I’m surprised with them onscreen.
Such a crazy thing about being a fan: I love classic Marvel characters and stories so much that it just feels natural to “deal” with the stuff in the movies that gives me the ick.
 
I think that's a good attitude to have generally. Just like with comics- not every story arc is going to hit for me. There might even be long stretches where I don't feel invested, but something always comes along to draw me back in, or I start to miss it and will dive back in myself. That's why I think some small tie-ins in each project are good to reward the more dedicated fans or to catch up those out of the loop, but it should rarely be "you have to watch these 5 things in order to understand this new thing". When you have to watch, just statistically, you're bound to watch something you don't enjoy sooner or later, and when it feels like homework, that takes away the fun of it.

There's a handful of shows coming- Ironheart will be out by then, but there's still Eyes of Wakanda, Marvel Zombies, Wonder Man, at least probably a sizzle reel of Daredevil season 2, maybe some official VisionQuest stuff. Not everyone's cup of tea, obviously, compared to the movies, but it's at least something.

There may be a Marvel Animation panel apparently. Since Television is more separate now, I wonder if they may have something too.
 
Thought the Wakanda series got shelved?

And glad they aren't making the poor cast of Ironheart do ANY more promo stunts. They've been dragged out and made to smile and wave at events like this for three years now!

I'm really hoping we get good news and a release date for X-Men 97 S2 - do we know if that's even coming this year?
