Longbox Heroes 1/12 Scale

Just found out about The Tick figure. A Legends comparable Tick has been something I've wanted for years.

Will these be decent quality plastic and everything? I like the articulation it seems to have... everything pinless...
I don't have any Monster Force yet, but the folks I know who do say they're solid figures. I don't think quality will be an issue.

Ahhh....the mention of Shocker brings back some memories. The threads where pretty much everyone (myself included) would slam conman Geoff Beckett and his ridiculous excuses for why people weren't receiving their preorders...there was some truly funny stuff! Wonder what con he's moved on to since everyone in the toy community is wise to him? He's probably working in the Trump administration somewhere.

I believe he was involved in Creative Comics and Collectibles, they released that abysmal Cassie Hack and that... kinda okay, but bulbous Dan Garrett Blue Beetle. (I have it, it fills a slot well next to my DCUC Ted Kord) The kickstarter for those viking figures they ran? Never resulted in anything despite funding successfully, with the last update being 4 years ago and all websites offline. The Superhero figures were made as "extra funding" to get those made or some horseshit like that.

Looking at LinkedIn, seems he moved onto what used to be a pinup magazine of older alternative chicks. Now it's an NFT brand, and he posts AI generated "art" every now and then. One of his latest posts is showing off a limited edition... Trump as a woman NFT.

Well, once a grifter, always a grifter I suppose.

Yeah, Operation Monster Force is quickly shaping up to be one of the best lines ever, and not just because of design. The quality has been spectacular so far. It makes me look forward to Tick/Madman/Grendel/etc. even more than usual.

Agreed about FMF making great figures... all of the Manster Force, and honestly all of the Santa figures I own as well are just really good action figures.

As for Geoff Beckett ... sometimes I go back and read the old e-mails I got from Shocker/Geoff about the status of my preoeder figures that never ever got made.
It is hilarious... even if it was alot of money I gave away on hope that I would have a Grendl and Dan Garrett and the other figures that never got made.

Has there been any news on when the Chairface Chippendale figure will go up for pre-order or if there are more figures for the Tick line planned? I was just Googling characters from the show and, in addition to a nostalgia hit, I was reminded how many zany and toyetic characters there were. I hope BBTS and FMF has plans for a bunch of figures to make a decent line and not just a couple of characters.

Yeah the first three are Tick, Barry and Chairface. Plus the vacation Tick exclusive. Given how much their lines tend to lean on reuse and how little reuse potential there really is in the Tick I'll be curious to see how things progress. I'd guess American Maid could be likely as she can probably at least reuse some parts from their Cheerleader. Maybe Dean can reuse some of tje Mob Boss parts? I don't know how much characters like Die Fledermaus, Sewer Urchin or the Human Bullet can reuse costumed hero parts.

Arthur and The Terror seem like musts even if they aren't super shared tooling friendly.

Stuff like El Seed, Dinosaur Neal, Thrakkazog and Man Eating Cow would all need dedicated sculpts which might be alot to ask.

I'd guess we'll likely see some reuse of the Tick mold for Mucus Tick, and maybe a variant like the 'I dig Dinosaur Neal' T-shirt Tick or chef hat and Apron Tick... silly stuff like that.

I am interested to see how things progress. Since the Tick doesn't have his own line they will have to mix those characters in with other Indie Comic characters. Based on their 5 poa Longbox Heroes we could be looking at the likes of the Savage Dragon, Mage, Goon, Black Phantom, Mr. Monster, Hallow Fire.... they showed at least 3 Grendel variants in that line, none of which is the one coming in wave 1 of their 1/12 line...

Honestly it will all depend on how well these sell. I'm hoping they do really well.

I like Tick just fine, but if we got 100 Savage Dragon characters I could still find more to wishlist.

I haven't read the book in YEARS, but I would LOVE a large chunk of those early characters.

I still love the LCBH Dragon and Star I have, but they are showing their age now, and I;m not opposed to updated versions.

I would guess they can do a generic superhero body that, with overlays, can get us some characters from The Tick (mostly thinking of Die Fledermaus and Bullet. Sewer Urchin is tough because of the spines on his arms and legs, but if the line sells they can figure it out. Arthur is a must though and maybe having a smaller buck could provide for reuse opportunities across other lines. His wings and potbelly are the more costly parts, but maybe they do that with an overlay. It would kill the torso articulation, but I'll make that trade for Arthur if it's deemed necessary. Maybe they can repurpose the FMF Santa Claus to give us Multiple Santa? I'd take one of those!

So when originally conceptualized the Longbox Heroes line was going to include Nexus and E-Man. I would be over the moon happy if the 1/12 line could get those figures.

My dream line up for any indie comic line would be Nexus, Badger, Whisper and the Elementals. I would go nuts for some well done Elementals action figures.

I know the owner of Elementals is kind of a shithead (Rev, I mean, Willingham is a good dude) so I don't know how easy he'd be to work with but the Elementals would mostly be easy to put in figure form. Not a ton of new sculpting necessary for Vortex, Morningstar and Fathom. Monolith would obviously require extra work, but.. worth it. Maybe even get a Ratman in there.

Now I dream about that the rest of the day...

Dude I'm so with you on getting some Pacific and First comics characters. Some of my absolute favorites came out of those banners. Nexus, Badger, and my biggest wanted character for a figure ever... GRIMJACK! (John Gaunt AND James Twilley versions please)
