JOYTOY 1/18 Scale TMNT

I think Bebop and Rocksteady only share hands and forearms. The amount of parts reuse has been pretty limited in this line. Hard to tell if the newest wave share much. They look awesome though. I'm glad I went back for Tokka because I knew if they did a Rahzar I'd be bummed about skipping him. I've always loved the Groundchuck design too so I guess I'm in for him and you can't have Groundchuck without Dirtbag...

This once tidy little display of mine is growing by quite a bit, though I have yet to have any FOMO over Casey and the Triceratons. This is a great line though. I wonder if they can do any characters that have only appeared as Playmates figures?

I'm very curious what their license covers too. Technically everyone they've done so far has been on the 80s cartoon, but the designs have not stuck to that source. I hope they can just pull from everywhere, because I'm loving their takes.

I would assume it's a license not unlike others. They probably have access to everything Viacom owns, but when it comes to characters that have been confined to just the Playmates toy line, Viacom may be telling them they're off-limits. With this not being a license for US distribution though, they may have a little more wiggle room. They definitely seem to be playing "the hits" for the most part and the original toon is probably serving as a guiding force. A lot of the designs so far have been "original cartoon, but with added realism" and their own spin. Which is kind of funny, because the figures that stray most from that design are probably the turtles themselves. They're more like a hodgepodge of several looks. And Shredder has some real 2k3 energy about him.

Cool Toys Club has the new wave up: https://www.cooltoysclub.com/JOYTOY...3.html?variant=JOYTOY JT01505+JT01512+JT01529

They have a disclaimer that says "Only for Asia district," in bold, red, lettering. Has this always been there? I see it's on the solicitations for the figures, but wasn't sure if that was new. Looks like I can order them, but they want to charge me $33 for air freight shipping so I'll wait and see if LT Cave puts them up. That shipping charge is basically like adding a fourth figure to the order.

My understanding is that Cool Toys started splitting the total value by lowering the cost but adding shipping, but that the pricing is basically what it was before overall?

I tried to place an order and got an error message. It was a big wall of garbage, but within it said "Card type not supported." It's the same card I placed other orders with, so maybe they're blocking US based credit cards?

I placed an order with Cool Toys today for about all available figures (2 foot, Bebop, Rocksteady, April, Splinter, Tokka, Slash, Krang) and the shipping was $55. So the more you buy, the better the price. That’s only about $6 per figure.

Woohoo. High five my fellow financially questionable decision making forum bro. I bought quite a few today myself.

I tried to be good. I told myself I didn’t need another set of turtles. But then my wife went and ordered them for my birthday so of course I had to get all the rest… I’m hoping for a Mondo and Wingnut… Ooo, and Ray Filet…

Does anyone have images of April beside any if the Battle for the Stars figures? There’s a couple I’d like to pick up that I think could make good Purple Dragons. I know the scales are the “same”, but I’ve seen other companies claim scale but not really have a true scale between different lines, if that makes sense…

I just got Krang and Slash today, aaaaaaaand I went back to Kowkistoy and ordered April and Casey.
Still not fond of the size of the bag Casey has, but he doesn't need to be displayed with it.

LT Cave put these up overnight, if anyone else was waiting for that. Not sure how all these sites collect payment, but LTC does offer a down payment option where you pay 40% up front and they charge the rest 20 days later.

Thanks for the heads up! Got my order in for the 3. Looks like the reveal of Groundchuck and Dirtbag got a few of us either jumping into the line or going deeper in.

Nice, just placed my preorder through LT Cave as well. I wasn't sure if they were going to put these up or wait until they're in stock.

I wonder how these look with the Jada Turtle Van? It's probably too small as I don't know what scale Jada goes for and these guys probably are a little bigger anyway than true 1:18.
