Jada Toys Scooby Doo

Hopefully we'll hear more at SDCC- at least who the monsters in the Scooby wave are, if not a peak at series 3. My guess for the MI member would be Velma; she seems like the next "biggest" of the gang, but I wouldn't be surprised at any of them. As long as the price stays somewhat decent and the quality matches what seems to be a pretty strong first wave, I could see fans devoting themselves to the line, even without assurance of more.

I think Shaggy and Scooby work well enough on their own but once you start adding a Fred or Velma then everyone NEEDS the whole gang to happen at that point. It would almost be worse to get 4 of the 5 than just Shaggy and Scooby.

But I’d love to see full line ups from things like the Boo Brothers, Reluctant Werewolf, Ghoul School, Zombie Island, etc. Vincent Van Ghoul would be cool too as would many of the celebrity guest stars.
Man, this thread has unlocked so many childhood memories for me. I didn't know the names of any of these characters, but I remember them all vividly.

They could do Daphne next and still be show accurate to those weird seasons without Fred and Velma (I hated those seasons).

Yeah, it always struck me as odd. If they were only going to keep one person from the gang besides Shaggy and Scooby, Velma makes the most sense. Not only is she the one eager to solve mysteries, but they have a built-in reason as to why Fred and Daphne would be off together. Did they really think Daphne was that big a draw for girls and/or horny men watching cartoons? Is Velma that big a turn-off? Makes you wonder.

Please, let's have a little tact here. For the purposes of being able to sell it to children, it's a Scooby Snack hand. You know- Scooby Snacks, which aren't a thinly veiled metaphor for anything at all. 🤪
"Scooby Snack hand," "Puff Puff Pass hand" - toMAYto, toMAHto...

I wish I had that van, though. Going for big bucks on the secondary market. 🫤

Scrappy was great. The movie made him terrible.
No, he was ALWAYS terrible. I watched that show as a kid, and always hated that we got Scrappy instead of Fred & Velma. He was obnoxious, and generally hated by the vast majority of fans/kids on the playground back in the day. This is the exact reason he was made to be the villain in that movie...because he sucks more than a black hole. Scappy is the only dog in history that I actively hate, because usually dogs are awesome. My theory is that Scrappy wasn't really a dog, but a demon from the pits of Hell that took that form to mock all that is good and holy in the world.

That having been said, if they eventually do a figure of him I WILL buy him...if only to have him tortured by Mephisto, Jigsaw, or Art the Clown in other displays.

While I do think Scrappy would sell well enough on his own just for nostalgia/torture's sake, I guess they can always throw him in a 2 pack with Rowan Atkinson or a Hulked out Scrappy if they really wanted to. 😂

The unmasked heads are a nice touch, and these look great, but not sure I want to start this up when I have the previous 5" line which went pretty deep with close to 20 villains...and no Scrappy.

That would be my only concern if I was into this license. Slow walking the main gang could backfire if collectors are concerned about the line ending abruptly. At the very least, waves should be 2:1 in terms of the Scooby gang and the monsters.
It's the worst part about Jada, as a fan of IPs and how the company works.

Street Fighter seems very slow dripped, even though we are pretty well along. It just feels like we should be further, given how McF and Hasbro truck along. Is that on Jada or me? I could be convinced either way.

It's compounded by Mega Man, which honestly I've never seen in the wild, and also seemed dead at a point. Again, the other companies churn out teases and info. Jada is smaller, etc.

But now we go to Scooby Doo. Maybe the formula of repaints and exclusives like SF2 is the plan. But I just want the gang, and to launch Scooby Doo without Scooby in the wave seems like a death knell.

They churned out Cammy and Chun early on, and I hope they push the girls and Fred out. Just as a consumer, the One Protag per Wave approach sucks to me. I'd rather they repaint or do outfit tweaks (winter, beach, I don't know) to keep characters evergreen.

It seems that evergreen model is dead for every company, though, so what do I know.

These figures look outstanding, which increases my hype, but also reinforces my jadedness if we're going to get one wave or one main character a year, as evidenced by their other lines.

You can argue it's a patience game, and we don't know their logistics and manufacturing (I know they did change factories once with SF), but more and more it seems like if something doesn't ignite right away, the momentum is doomed.
