Jada Toys Scooby Doo

The evergreen approach is killing Jakks’ Simpsons line. Way too many Homers and Barts clogging the shelves. It’s a tricky balance. Hasbro putting out cases of the Mandalorian snd Darth Vader was a brilliant move though. Those are two characters that can easily sell to casual fans walking down the toy isle. Scooby and Shaggy are certainly that for this line. Doesn’t mean we need one in every wave but they’re certainly the most recognizable to bank on. I do think the first wave should have been 4 figures with Scooby being the other. Even if that changed going forward they should have had a Scooby in the first wave. Hopefully 2 isn’t far behind.

I love little Scrappy Doo, and hope we get him in the line. I hope we get Scrappy and Scooby Dum. It always kills me how little Scooby Dum merch there is. I have hundreds upon hundreds of Scooby Doo pieces of Merch. Toys, Plush, art, statues, really anything with Scooby on it. And I have like one thing of Scooby Dum.

Could this be the line that gives us a Scooby Dum action figure? I hope so. No matter what, these figures look like a lot of fun. Jada really impresses me these last few years, and I'm glad they are the ones that are doing these toys.

Just checking my math here, but Blue Falcon and Dyno-Mutt are canon to Scooby-Doo, right?

And KISS?
They are indeed. Not to yuck anyone's yum, but they're the reason I didn't care for the animated Scoob! movie. Removing any sort of creepy aspect from Scooby Doo, aside from a quick little prologue, defeats the purpose for me.

But I digress. Between The New Scooby Doo Movies, Scooby Doo and Guess Who?, and just all the other movies, there are hundreds of celebrities that are canon to Scooby that, if they ever get a figure, could easily be worked into the display. Elvira, for instance; I think the only animated style figure we've gotten is the Toony Terrors, which I don't think is in scale, but could still be fudged.

I can't believe I have nothing suitable in the parts bin to bash together Jonathon Winters' alter ego, Maude Frickert.

Agreed, I don't even collect that line but the Homer and Bart situation is too much in the other direction.

On the other hand, fairly quick family completion?

If we don't get Hex Girls, I don't know what Jada is even doing.

I'd definitely be down for Scooby Dum. Hopefully this line has legs and can get to characters like him.

I think there's a bit of a balance to be had with the line. At 3 figures per wave, a single protagonist per wave is perfectly suitable. It's silly to make us wait 2+ years to get the core set of characters any display would be based around, but I suppose we'll just have to make do.

Personally, I'd make it 4 figure waves with 2 core characters a wave and 2 monsters, until we get through the main 5. After that, I'd have it be a core character in an alt outfit (Zombie Island, What's New, 13 Ghosts, etc), a supporting character (Scooby-Dum, Scrappy + Flim-Flam, Vincent Van Ghoul, whatever guest characters they can feasibly do, etc), and two monsters. That way we can keep the evergreen characters in the line with looks that are popular (or easy to do) main looks from the different eras, while also worldbuilding. None of this "Well, here's Homer Simpson but dressed like The Hulk! And now he's Bigfoot! And now he's--" type bullshit. Save that for con exclusives or online exclusives.
