Got Elric, Nashorn, and finally opened Nin Vilimar. These figures are fantastic! Great sculpts and really nice articulation. Love the weapons. Elric is obviously my kind of character with all of the armor. I love the full helmet. I’d buy every knight they make like this.
What the bespoke fuck. I've seen a hundred pictures of Elric and never had a twinge of interest. Your pictures, though.... I may have made a mistake.

Okay, Elric's armor does remind me of Guts. I can see why he's being brought up now.
Stupid sexy Elric.
Somehow I had never heard of Joe Abercrombie until this weekend when a friend of mine told me they had to miss a meeting because they were going to see him at a bookstore.
Add me to the list of those who love the First Law trilogy. I'm somewhat lukewarm on the standalone books that follow, but the core trilogy rocks. Before They Are Hanged—the second book—is one of my favorite books.

I just learned Savage Crucible plans to do Fafhrd and the Grey Mouser. Fuck, I'm probably going to buy at least two more...

Elric is core DNA to Guts, the Targeryans, Geralt of Rivia, and a handful of others. Guts is basically "what if Elric was raised by the Black Company" (complimentary).

Lol, but also. Yes. Literally.

Goddammit, now I'm sold on Guts, which I've never read.

And yeah, Matt Smith is running around in Elric cosplay in House of the Dragon.

Fair warning, Berserk is a DARK series. Bleak as fuck. Bleak to the extent that, while it is undeniably good, I did not get far past it's most famous arc. Just too punishing. And sadly the original author passed before the story's completion. IIRC another mangaka was supposed to complete it from notes or something, but I don't know if that'll happen and it'll take a while if it does.

BBTS has sold out of pre-orders for Death Dealer, but the Frazetta Musuem (not the one run by Frazetta Girls) still has him available.

Hey past Dek, this is future Dek.

Death Dealer is still sold out at BBTS, BUT Nakara, Brynyar Vael, and MOST IMPORTANTLY Elric is up for pre-order and you were able to get one of Elric! I don't know how long this will last but I'm glad we saw it.

I'm going to roll the dice on Death Dealer and just see if I can snag him when he goes in stock. I'm more interested in this line than I was, but if I miss him I'll live.

When I talked with Frankie Frazetta he said that the Death Dealer orders sold better (he didn't say if it was a lot or a little) than Elric, so Death Dealer might be even harder to come by.

But I do love to watch a betting man! But seriously, I think if you really do want him when the reviews come out you should be able to get him with not too much difficulty. Savage Crucible has been good about getting product into customer hands. I'm not aware of one figure that proved too difficult to get in the long run.

EDIT: Brynyar and Elric are sold out again at BBTS.

I skipped Death Dealer because he feels like he requires the horse and I just don't want to spend that much on one figure and a horse. I think I'll regret it later but not like "kicking myself for years" regret, more like "man, that would've been nice."

Pretty much how I feel. It's cool, but I was always more of a Conan guy than a Death Dealer guy, so I'll be fine.

@docsilence. You collect a lot more lines than I do, so I can afford (I mean mentally not monetary, though I can afford that too) to get everything I want from Savage Crucible. Plus I don't have to find room among my collection, the room for my pre-orders is already allocated. From what I've read you enjoy a lot more things and want items related to those, not just characters you have passing interest in.

Long story short, do what's right for your spending habits, your collection, and for yourself. I will always push you to buy more Savage Crucible, because I am a strong proponent for this company (in case I was being TOO subtle about it) and want them to expand through sales success. But we all need to do what's best for us.

Except for beer and Doritos. Just disgusting.

And @Damien can you please stop stalling my subtle manipulations to get others to buy what I like with your undermining personal testimonials? C'mon, let a brother do his thing.

“Haha who would order Death Dealer without the horse” I chuckle with tears in my eyes as a I close my confirmation email for Death Dealer sans horse.

So far the only figure I’ve gone for the horse & figure combo is Skull Knight, and while awesome, I’m never doing that again.

Fuck, I guess the Black Company is next on my reading list.

The original anime only ran 25 episodes. I recommend that as a starting point. It's excellent.

The Black Company is legit. It follows a mercenary company working for folks who are effectively the Ringwraiths from LotR, who themselves work for The Lady, effectively the wife of Sauron. It has a very different tone from something like Elric. Much more grounded and naturalistic while still including fantasy things like flying carpets and werejaguars and such.

There's 9 books and I've read the first 3. I know folks who swear by the whole thing, but I stopped at 3 because it was such a satisfying meal I couldn't imagine needing any more.
