Harvinger Studios, Savage Crucible

Harvinger Studios, Savage Crucible just announced on their twitter that the in-stock sale will be early June and Elric will be, in their words, "VERY LIMITED AMOUNTS."
I nabbed a preorder for him at BBTS but since I’m on the naughty list for cancelling preorders, if they receive anything less than their order I will not get one.

That's why I would choose Malazan Book of the Fallen if I could pick any fantasy license for the line. It's like the Black Company but with way more characters that would make for cool action figures: wizards, giants, elves, assassins, undead caveman warriors, dragons, shapeshifters, gods and demigods... This Elric has me dreaming about an Anomander Rake figure.

I bounced off Malazan HARD, like it took me three tries to get through the first book, got into it, go through the third book and then just lost my interest entirely, but I do think they have some great characters for a Savage Crucible treatment in there. A lot of those weird-ass immortals would make for cool figures. Definitely a series that felt like it had better ideas than execution.

How many cancelations land you on the naughty list? Do they tell you? I just canceled an order because I didn't realize it was a model kit and not an actual action figure but I'm hoping that doesn't land me on the naughty list (I did have 300 dollars in stuff shipped this week alone from them). I only order from them if I DON'T plan on canceling, but I was actually just checking on my Elric order from them and noticed I'd... ordered a Major Motoko I thought was a normal action figure and not a model kit. (Ironically they're about to charge me for an actual Motoko action figure that's twice as much money I won't cancel so I hope that keeps me off their shit list.)

This is what CS at BBTS emailed me when I asked about some preorders that other people had had shipped but not me:
Thanks for reaching out to us regarding your Twincast and Metalhawk Pre-orders. I can certainly understand your concern as the orders were all accepted only recently and we certainly were surprised to see a shipment show up from Hasbro already! Sorry to hear that your orders have not been filled just yet. I am happy to confirm that we did receive a partial shipment of these figures toward the end of last week, and, unfortunately, that does mean that it was not enough to cover all of the existing Pre-orders at one time.

When we do find ourselves in a situation like this where we are not able to fill all of the Pre-orders at the same time, while by default we try to fill what orders we can in an oldest to newest lineup, our system does look at a number of other factors before accepting that lineup. One of the factors our system looks at is the cancellation rate for a given account, which, as you have guessed, most likely is the cause for your order getting bumped to a later fulfillment. Since Hasbro has started shipping these figures, we hopefully will be receiving more of these figures soon, at which time we will resume filling orders and getting them shipped out to our customers!

As for future Pre-order arrivals, the cancellation rate is tracked for everyone automatically in our system and we do not have a way to simply remove anyone from being watched. The best advice I can offer is to continue on the path that you already mentioned, by making an effort to not cancel your Pre-orders. As you continue to allow your Pre-orders to be filled and shipped to you, your cancellation rate will obviously be affected in a positive manner and will eventually reach a point where it is not taken into account when our stem is prioritizing order fulfillment.

Sounds a little fuzzy but like there's a threshold that flags the customer. I think I've canceled three things from them over the years since I really only order from them if I know I won't cancel. Had to go back a full year to find a single figure I canceled (which I'd ordered because I thought it was new but it was actually a re-release) and then over a year for one figure before that... and there are a SHAMEFUL number of items I actually had shipped in between. I basically do all my MOTU, third-party, and import orders through them.

Hell, I usually only delay shipping my POL if I'm trying to make sure THEY don't waste boxes and postage on figures arriving close together.

My understanding from previous stuff from BBTS and from that e-mail snippet is that their system works on a percentage basis, where every single customer is ordered by their ratio of cancellations to fulfilled orders. But yeah, I would guess somewhere in there it says 'if %>/=X move to end of queue.'

Shamefully for me and not for them, I just looked through my old orders looking for cancelations and I'm at under a 1% cancellation rate because I buy too much shit. My orders in the last six months put my cancellation rate under 1%. I'm so fiscally irresponsible.

Honestly, my cancellation rate is probably like 80% at this point. I pre-order whatever I think I'm going to want and prune the pre-orders as I lose interest in something, find it elsewhere, or if there's some financial hit I've taken and I feel like the pre-order will charge before I can recover.
It's a double-edged sword for them, I guess. They make it so easy to cancel that I do so often. But if they didn't make it easy to cancel, I wouldn't use them at all, most likely. So... here we are. They still get way too much of my money and I refuse to go calculate how much.

My preorder rate is sky-high, definitely in the 70%-80% range, though to be clear a lot of that is ordering, cancelling, and re-ordering the same figures. I have a problem.

Guessing I'm not on the bad list then. I went back through all my orders. Seven items canceled since 2017. There were... THIRTY FOUR PAGES OF ORDERS. I gotta be on the low end for the average BBTS customer. (Funny enough four of those were "oops BBTS got overstock from Walmart that Walmart hasn't shipped yet and I forgot I had a standing order," one was "oops they got overstock from the Disney Store and I forgot Disney hasn't shipped yet," one case of impatience for a Snake Eyes and Timber set, and today's "wait this isn't an action figure, I have to put this shit together myself? I fucked up." I always put my "I might not want this later" orders through Amazon or Pulse or Target. (I'd say "or Walmart" but Walmart cancels more orders than they ship anyway.)

The model set is particularly funny because I've got three other versions of that same character through them that cost twice what the model set cost. I'm just never putting a model kit together.

Anyway, to stay on Savage Crucible, BBTS got my money for the albino lizard guy because I had REGERTS not getting him in-stock direct from Harvinger and two days later was like "welp, I'll throw him on my upcoming POL and get him from BBTS instead..."

I really hope someone tells Harvinger how much of their money Harvinger got that can be traced directly back to Damien on ArticulatedThoughts being like 'you guys have to fucking check these figures out, IDGAF what your excuse is not to.'

Sounds to me you're a wise shopper with a 99%+ eye for quality.

Got Elric, Nashorn, and finally opened Nin Vilimar. These figures are fantastic! Great sculpts and really nice articulation. Love the weapons. Elric is obviously my kind of character with all of the armor. I love the full helmet. I’d buy every knight they make like this.

On a related note, the albino lizard should be on his way to me in another day or two. I'm going to be picky with this line, but I am sold on the quality. Elric's rocking my socks off.
