Harvinger Studios, Savage Crucible

I was on Reddit this morning, because I was feeling good about myself and wanted that to stop
Literally me every fucking day...
FWIW, if you've bounced off Moorcock (THAT IS A LEGITIMATE SENTENCE) in the past
It's funny how a good action figure can inspire us in ways to keep the dopamine going. I had read a little bit of Elric's stories as a kid, then a few of the First comics mini series, my familiarity with him was limited but did exist and I loved the character from what I knew. Then Savage Crucible drops this gem and I find myself downloading books and comics and diving back in full force.
I gave up on Elric a few chapters into the first book (in-universe chronology-wise, I think it's a prequel?) when I was a teen trying to expand my fantasy tastes. Redownloaded it recently and have been enjoying it so far. I can definitely see his DNA in some of my favourite fantasy stuff.

I've always loved introspective protagonists but I'm not overly fond of tragedies so I'm not sure if I will stick with it if the upcoming stuff is too cynical or depressing. I also downloaded the Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser stuff so maybe I'll use that as a palate-cleanser if Elric gets too heavy.

Haven't gotten too much inspiration yet for who he could fight on the shelf, it's pretty much just been humans and weird demons so far.

I have bad news...

I mean, kinda kidding, but kinda not. Elric's story is very much a tragedy. It's not as bleak as Berserk, which is clearly influenced by Elric, but it's preeeeetty grim. Thing is it's all in that pulp style which, for me at least, sort of diffused a lot of it. If it was more grounded I think the end of Stormbringer would have been pretty miserable.

This is a good plan. Also I recommend the comic adaptation of them drawn by a pre-Hellboy Mike Mignola.

Naraka up for pre-order at BBTS. Probably only one or two. So get on it.

EDIT: Sold Out.

The Savage Crucible Live Stream is tomorrow May 7th at 10 pm. I won't be able to watch it until Friday or Saturday, but the topic of conversation will be "Where is Wave 3?".

They did say they had other knight parts molded, I believe to work in conjunction with the joints. The owner said that parts of Elric's armor like the chest probably won't see reuse.

When I talked with Frankie Frazetta he said that very little of Death Dealer could be used for reuse because of copyright (trademark? I don't remember what word was used,) issues. I'd assume the same for Elric.

But I agree. There is something to be said for distinctive parts and soft goods for collaboration characters. Even when it stunts your growing parts library. And I feel that's a business practice I can get behind, because I interpret as trying to create more value for the customer. I feel it can incentivize customers to be more forgiving for higher prices for figures because of said distinctive parts and included soft good they can only get with that figure.

Are there any third-party or 5Ktoys-like knight figures with SC-level articulation and quality? I know there's the Horsemen of course, just wondering what else is out there.

There's definitely import options, some that look quite nice, that I've seen over the years. I don't know any off the top of my head as the price tends to be a little steep.

The problem I've seen with 1:12-1:10 scale knights is that they tend to be so hyper-stylized that they might as well be anime ninja guys for as much as they have in common with actual medieval soldiers.
