General Marvel Legends

I still haven't bitten on Maximum Hulk even discounted at 40 bucks. I kinda regret Maximum Spidey cos I don't use 90% of what he came with and I like the overall build of the previous generation of Spideys better.I wouldn't have glanced twice at Maximum Deadpool without Doop. I would, however, give Thor a long look because I really don't have THE Thor I want in my collection, and I do think Magneto could be fun to do in a Maximum style (lots of twisted metal and a wired cape maybe?).

I'll take a look at the Magneto when it shows, but I'm not inspired by any of those Maximum offerings. Hasn't Spidey's black suit had enough reuse lately? I realize it's popular but good grief, whats the change? They're going to paint the bottoms of his feet blue and send it back out?
Please. They'd never spend money on paint.

If not a wired cape for Magneto, maybe at least swappable soft goods and plastic ones. Or just a design built so that it's easy to give him the cape we all want. I feel like some of the scuttlebutt for a gamerverse version was the possibility of that force bubble effect they had for him at the show where they revealed Apocalypse.

For me it's mostly about the build and an unmasked head. I want the Magneto from the two-page splash at the opening of Jim Lee's X-Men#1. I would prefer a cape that would allow him to sit down so I can give him a throne, but I'd settle for a stellar base with a good head sculpt. The signature villains we've been getting for a few years I feel have been pretty good. Classic Ultron, Kang, and Dr. Doom were all beautiful sculpts. The new Kingpin is a delight. They were so close with 97 Magneto to the perfect one for me, but he's a smidge short and I'm not fond of the masked head. But he's so close.

Not sure if it’s being discussed in another Marvel thread, but BBTS has finally canceled all outstanding preorders from Diamond Select, including all Marvel Select figures. Annihilus, War Machine, Archangel, Hobgoblin, DP&W Deadpool and Wolverine, will not see the light of day.

And Annihilus rockets back up my most-wanted ML list.

The proto for the MS version was beautiful, I'm disappointed I'll never get to own one. The few MS I have (Crimson Dynamo, Titanium Man) are some of my favorite Marvel figures.

It's sad about Diamond Select if for no other reason than to be missing that constant reminder to Hasbro about what's possible at essentially the same price point. Bigger scale, more paint, more accessories, WHILE paying a licensing fee.....for $2 more out of the customers' pockets. I'm guessing the suits at Hasbro are glad they're gone.

As much as I love my Marvel Select collection (I've collected from the beginning, as a separate 7" display, both comic and MCU figures), knowing that I won't be adding to it anymore is accelerating the difficult choice to put the entire display into storage. Mostly to make room for figures I haven't been able to display properly. Those shelves could be used for Classified vehicles that have just been on the floor in front of the shelves. It's sad to see it go, but also satisfying to know I've got every piece I've wanted that's available. I appreciate the finality of it.

Lawdy, Gorgon is massive. I will only ever have him crouched down. Looking at him next to Medusa, they don't even look like the same toy line.
Yeah, I have not been happy with the hugeness they have been going for from Odin to Juggernaut and so on lately. He makes Medusa look like a teenager/child almost.

I can accept it for Odin, and Juggernaut to a degree (especially given the specific source material). But I have no recollection of Gorgon ever being this size. It's one thing to work within a body that's available. But there are now SO MANY bodies available! I feel like I could get behind the Caliban use from the waist up. But those haunch legs, when extended, make him even taller than Caliban, I'm guessing. I think the Hercules body would have been far more appropriate for this character. That said, I'll likely appreciate the diversity of silhouettes once I've united the royal family.

I think I notice it more for characters who are part of groups/teams. Odin seems too big to me when next to most Thors and Lokis - which is why I didn't care for it, he can be big but Thor is already meant to be imposing himself. Hulk can be huge because that is his whole thing, being huge. Odin's thing isn't being huge to me.

I probably shouldn't have included Juggernaut, he is huge in the comics, and I like the Select version's size.
