G.I. Joe Classified Series

I've wanted to glue glasses, but am so worried about slopping it on. The already mentioned figures are driving me nuts, so maybe this weekend.

Question while on the subject: Any good/safe ways of removing glued-on items? My NECA Invisible Man has his glasses incorrectly placed one of the heads.

Use a toothpick to apply it. I'd only apply it to the head so you're not spreading glue all over as you attach the glasses.

Maybe some nail polish remover?

To go serious for a second, I believe it is less about parent groups potentially complaining, and more about fear of some nutbag redhat going on social media and praising Hasbro for finally making a KKK action figure. Which is insane, since CoCo doesn’t look like that at all in a hood. This whole stupid tempest in a teapot goes back to Lorenzo di Bonaventura running his mouth about the hood back when he was working on his crap Joe movies. It’s the silliest, most reactionary, least logical thing ever regarding this brand. I mean he’s the leader of a terrorist organization for shit’s sake. Not only is the “ban” ridiculous and unnecessary, it also dilutes the very real need to root out *actual* redhat/fascist/nazi dog-whistling in media. This topic seriously grinds my gears.
I never mind going off topic but I would like our Classified thread to delve into the Hooded Cobra Commander topic.

I actually never fully grasped what the issue was, truth be told. But THAT does sound like a reason they would go with.

It brings to mind Aziz Ansari's comment about coming to appreciate how much Nazis used to keep it hidden, and wishing we could go back to that.

Honestly, I'm really tired of vocal minorities and shitty fans ruining franchises for the rest of us. It happened with Star Wars (not that JJ needed any help in that area), I'm braced for it to happen with Marvel, and here we are with Joes.

As someone who has spent a lot of time professionally around fandoms, I have a go-to statement for stuff like that, @Ru1977 - "fanatic" is NOT A COMPLIMENT. I never want anyone to think of me as a fanatic of anything short of like, human rights.

As Ace mentions though, I do think it's got a lot to do with not giving the nutbags fodder. I don't think Four Horsemen, for example, were worried their main fan base were going to turn the upcoming knight and horse into a KKK cosplay; but they didn't want to be the ones who gave some terrible people the TOOLS to do it. As in all things, the shitty smaller group of monsters ruin it for everyone. I'd love a hooded CC, but if it means I have to deal with a few less psychotic bigots, I can live without him.

To be crystal clear: my stance on hooded Cobra Commander is absolutely fuck the alarmism and nonsense: MAKE HIM.

Make him in his original mail-away outfit, blue “Talking Battle Commanders” version, black Battle Corps version, Crimson version, that weird armor version from Valor vs Venom. MAKE THEM ALL.

Bigots can eat shit, as can pearls-clutching parents.

The shape is not even close to a Klan hood so to me it just seems ridiculous. Also it's a toy. Red Skull's figures over the last 10 years look more like Nazi uniforms than CC's hood looks like a Klan hood. Is the difference that the bad guys this time are American?

It's not like Duke is showing up to combat briefings wearing his pointy white Klan hood. v6 CC looks more like a Pac-man ghost than a KKK member.
