G.I. Joe Classified Series

I took about a hundred pics of classified Dreadnoks fighting xenomorphs last night and I have come away with one true thing: while stylistically I'm glad they made Ripper and Buzzer's glasses removable, bleepity bleep BLEEP it is hard to keep those things on their faces in action poses. Also when your eyes are going, dropping them? Nightmare scenario. So tiny. So smol. So hard to see. That being said, being able to lift the glasses up for a horror-style "uh-oh" scene is fun. Maybe they just need some blu-tack or something to keep them in place.

My hope with Monkeywrench is they're sculpted on this time.
Solid “maybe” there: the render shows the alt-mask attached to a hair piece, so hopefully the glasses are also attached. I appreciate what they are trying to do, but I’m tired of gluing down glasses and other small bits so they don’t disappear.

I 1000% agree. I have nearly unanimously been anti gluing figure stuff down for my entire life. Buzzer broke me. I glued his glasses on and have not regretted it.

What a tease!
I'm just trying to put a "story" of photos together on IG (although if anyone here has a recommendation for the easiest image upload option for the new forums I'm open to suggestions!) but then I'll share. I keep getting interrupted as I'm ordering them to tell the woeful tale. I went full on "Zarana Ripley" with Rawkus playing the role of Jonesy in these shots.

I do wish Torch had the ability to NOT have his glasses because it's weird having two one way and one the other, but he's the only one I wasn't stressed out about losing his specs while taking the pics.

Count me among those who have glued the Dreadnok's shades on. I don't typically do this. I didn't do this for ML Bruce Banner or even Jubilee, but might have for Beast. Since I have no recollection of ever seeing the Dreadnoks' eyes, I went ahead and glued them. Even sunglasses that have slots on Classified (looking at Cobra Island Roadblock) can't seem to keep them in place. If I'm handling Roadblock, one minute they're on, then I look away and they're off. The Kragle isn't as sacrilegious as some may want it to be.

I’ve been pretty merciless about gluing down Classified parts, which I also don’t normally do. But like for characters whose helmets/hats/glasses were not removable in ARAH, sometimes it just feels right and also much easier not to lose things, especially since I like to play with my toys and bring them places with me. I’ll occasionally keep a “clean” copy when I do any customizing, but like for say Sgt Slaughter I have no problem with his glasses and hat being glued down, as I have no interest in the “man” beneath. Glued on all my Cobra Troopers’ helmets and all Viper goggles as well.

Oh I ALWAYS glue in clips and magazines. Absolutely no question there.

I've been sticky tacking a lot of things. Really should just glue them. The worst things imo, up there with the glasses, are upside-down knife sheathes like on Shockwave's vest. That little knife fell out while posing and is way easier to miss than glasses. Had to basically tear apart my bedroom trying to find it on my black and brown carpet. Looked like the DEA just stopped by.

BTW, little tip for finding things, there's a technique called "Lighthouse" that I find helpful:
Grab your best flashlight, turn off the lights, get on the floor, and aim the flashlight parallel close to the ground. Makes it easier to spot things. But gets tougher to execute with each passing year!

Oh, the flippin' clips. They do pop in and stay but one stray bump and they're out again. I hadn't considered gluing them but I should.

And yeah, a lot of those upside-down knives...

I got some GI Joes in today. I got Road Pig, Gnawgahyde, and Doc. All 3 of these are excellent! I have some more on the way, which will completely catch me back up for my collecting. I had always bought every character that was from the Classic ARAH line. But sometime last year I stopped and just bought the Retro card figures, since they cover ARAH and their toy looks to a Tee. But man, Hasbro just keeps making the coolest looking figures in the regular Classified line.

So, I had to get back in. I had stopped at the Wave that had Night Creeper, Doc, Torch, and Jinx. So, it's been easy for me to get all the things I missed until now over the last couple months.

And now I have everything pre ordered that's up for pre order like Law and Order, Blowtorch, FRAG Viper, etc. Except Crystal Ball and Breaker. I missed them, but surely, I'll be able to get them at some point when they come out. And I do have the first release of Breaker. But this new one does look better.

And I'm so excited about Armored Cobra Commander and V.4 Snake Eyes.
