When I was picking up my son from work at Target last night, I went back through the toys. The two Retro Vipers were still there. After some internal deliberation, I took them home with me.
 
I forgot to mention, I opened Mindbender last night. I had the ARAH figure when I was a kid. He was a weird character then, and still is now. A mad scientist with a bondage fetish. Whatever, I don't kink shame. I'm glad to have him in my collection. Now if I could ever get off my ass and rearrange my work shelves so I could get the 20ish figures I don't have displayed up.
 
I had originally ordered Mindbender, then cancelled planning to wait for November sales. Now I keep eyeing him again, on the verge of 'fuck it'. He was one I never had so that is part of the allure.

Sidenote, my phone tried to autocorrect mind to kind and I immediately thought of a backstory where he gets hit on the head and spends a whole episode switching sides and going by Dr. Kindfriender. Unfortunately, as much as the joes want to believe him, they have shirt regulations.
 
Dr. Kindfriender is absolutely the alias Mindbender thinks up when he needs to come up with a fake name to use at the motel where he's meeting his latest vict-, erm, experiment.
 
Shaving his mustache reminds me of the fan that asked Kevin Smith if he ever thought about shaving his beard, as the fan felt it was the source of his power, much like "Chuck Norris, Chewbacca, and Jesus" during one of the Evening Withs. (Then Kevin asked the fan if he was a character from one of his movies.)

Maybe as long as he keeps the monocle, he can maintain some of his strength.

Also: a metaphorical blow to the head made Mindbender into Mindbender, so I’d be all about him getting temporarily jolted back to his “Kindfriender” persona. Imagine him running in terror from the sexy-kinky Cobra torture-dungeon, and Interrogator and Crystal Ball are like “Brian no come back!!! This next thing only works if there are three of us!! Who’s gonna hold the mongoose!! BRIAN BENDER GET YOUR OILED ABS BACK IN THE DUNGEON NOW!!”
And Footloose is just sitting there, tied to a chair, mumbling “never microdose before a mission again, man . . .”

Haw. Well, you try putting a shirt on that guy. It reminds me of a guy I knew who refused to put on a shirt before we went into a bar, then he compromised and put on a leather jacket but left it open and I said, "That's somehow worse!" But we went the whole evening without getting our asses kicked at least.

I won't have much of a chance to write today, which is just as well since I feel like I can't creatively top "Kindfriender" anyway.
 
Footloose canonically microdosing would make sense.

I don't have time to figure out how to embed the image in my post, but Preternia just shared the digital render of Beachhead and Quick Kick. Beachhead's outfit is so hilariously ugly and I love it. (EDIT: OH HEY IT EMBEDDED AUTOMATICALLY! I LOVE IT)

I feel for any Canadians who might be getting stuff through DHL beccause they have locked out workers for about a month now. So finally the union said screw it and they are fully going on strike (no deliveries) on Friday.
 
I enjoyed the Pulse videos today. I am not reading the Energon Universe stuff so it was a nice summary of recent issues and characters. I can see how it would have been a nice add-on to Yo Joe June if last weeks fanstream had gone ahead.

I only wish they had given us at least one new reveal and not just the digital render of something we saw in physical form already.
 
This was probably always going to be the “eye of the storm” week for the Yo Joe June reveals, feeding off momentum from the last two weeks. So yeah this feels disjointed with two weeks in a row of little news.
