G.I. Joe Classified Series: The Chatty Pointless Thread & Performance Art

When Overkill was shown and put up for preorder, I thought he was nasty and had no interest. I never had the original and always thought he was just a robit. Now he's some post-accident, Vader lookin' motherfucker. Yesterday I was yet again thinking of how to do a Dr Venom that isn't just a guy in a white coat, but also not liking my attempt at him as a guy in a black coat, then thought "hey, what if I have him as fucked up but still alive after Kwinn blew him up?" And realized.... ohhhhhhhh, Overkill in a white coat! heh heh.

While I prefer Overkill as an original character, “rebuilt Doctor Venom” appeals to me more than “rebuilt SAW-Viper”.

In my current head-canon, Overkill’s original identity is unknown and perhaps unimportant (except to him, of course).
I imagine he was a newly-recruited rank-and-file Cobra Viper . . . named “Murphy”.

As a kid, Overkill was just the Joe version of Terminator to me. Psycho-murderer AI. Nothing human in there at all. Making him more like (more-) Evil Robocop is a cool twist, but one I also don't necessarily need and I'm not sure if I'll stick with it as my head canon or not.

Until the Spy Troops update, that was true for me as well, and even then I resisted adjusting to the “cyborg” elements.

The call of Cronenbergian body horror is strong, though. The fact that he’s fucked up under there gets me excited.

I made full use of that claw. His MO was smashing into a position, then tanking fire as he clawed and brain drilled every single Joe in reach.

I debated putting the officer armband on the other arm, but said “nah, fuck it, he wouldn’t hide the American flag, he’d *use* it”.

Also: this is a super-easy bash that anyone can do with the proper parts.
